A Synchrony Bank credit card finally approved!!!

Finally, Bank's door opened for me again two years after I was discharged. I had many credit cards with Synchrony and always PIF, but two small amounts (1,045.00) between a PayPal Mastercard and PayPal LOC were owed when I filed. No matter what, Synchrony always denied me when attempting to "pre-qualify" offers.

Until last night, I have been gardening for a bit now but came across a typical PayPal Mastercard banner when I logged in to my account that I tend to ignore. This time, I decided to apply since there is only a hard hit if approved. Well, to my surprise, I was instantly approved for 7,500.00.
I'm happy Synchrony allowed me back in, as they offer many great store cards (I miss my Amazon the most). I want to share this in case someone else is going through the same.

Congratulations @Waldemar on your Synch PP Mastercard! With a minimum 2% CB it looks like a nice catch-all card.

And to my surprise, I received an "account type 1" rate, although I was ready for the 31.99. I have some cards with good rates but this is good too from this type of credit card.

So is it better to just apply instead of using the pre-qualify route? I can't seem to get back in with them

They don't prequalify for the PayPal Mastercard (or the Venmo Visa), but they do allow you to apply without a hard pull if you're declined. Of course, if you're accepted, then they'll do the hard pull.

And that's exactly how I got the card. I took a chance knowing if I got decline there was not gonna be a hard inquiry but only if I got approved.
