Chase Approval - Freedom Unlimited

Took a gamble and it paid off. Approved for the Chase Freedom Unlimited VISA with a Starting CL of $11,000. Not going to lie....was kind of surprised as I was at the 5/24 by my calculations so I knew I was taking a risk in submitting the app but I'm glad I decided to pull the trigger. Happy to have this card in my collection. Now if I could somehow get them to give me a CLI on the Prime Visa as it's been stuck at a measley $1,500 since I opened it November 2021. 😂

Hope I can get myself to the Sapphire Club someday. One step at a time!

Scores in sig current? I've seen people allocate some CL to a lower limit card and shortly after it triggers a CLI. Anecdotal, but maybe worth a try if you dont need all $11k on that new CFU.

Congrats by the way! Im also at 5/24 with the approval of my CSP but I definately could use a 15 month 0% promo and an easy SUB like the CFU.

To be honest, I need to get a new MyFICO report to check my scores again. The only scores I have are from Credit Karma, which I know is not always 100% accurate. But for reference, CK has my TU score at 727 and EQ score at 732.

I was going to ask for some advice on data points regarding CLI's so I can keep that for future reference. I know there is a LUV button on the Chase app/website but I never have luck with it on the Prime VISA. Honestly, I was quite surprised at the $11k starting line so I will have to do some thinking about if I want to transfer some of that from the CFU to the Prime VISA.

Thanks for the kudos! I eventually want the Sapphire myself but that 0% for 15 months promo and no AF was a deciding factor in applying for the CFU. There is a credit card coming soon for Breeze Airways which I have my eye on because I flew with them last year and loved the direct flight to Vegas....so that's on my radar as well.

In my experience, calling or going in branch to see if you are eleigible for a CLI or pre-approved for other cards yielded better results.

Will calling result in a hard pull for a CLI on the Prime VISA? No CLI movement on a $1,500 credit card for over 2 years is a bit silly to me. The LUV button tells me I'm not eligible for an increase on that card but if I can get a soft pull for a CLI by calling in, I'll give it a shot.

Yes no matter which means you take (button, call, message) they are all SP.

Congrats!

Chase is usually very easy to deal with when it comes to reallocating credit limits. A phone call can probably get some of that limit moved from the CFU to the Amazon card if you like.

congrats!! I think people make the 5/24 a little more dramatic than it is. lol It's not really a hard and fast rule.
