Cap 1 Venture Rewards CLI $1K_New CL $19.5K

It's been 3 months since my last Cap 1 cli on this card. I hit the cli button every month. Last successful cli was just under 3 months ago on 10-26-23. I requested 25K today but they countered with 19.5K. I'm more than happy to take the 1K increases they continue to give me bc I only spend around 40-100 bucks a month. EQ score(they use it for CLIs) is 757 with 6/24 inq and 9/24 new accounts. Currently, have 5% total UTI and around $9800 out 200K available credit. Balances on 3 cards not Cap 1

Thsnks and keep at it. I hope you can get there. I started off with my 1K Amex in 2019 after having no cards for nearly 20 years bc I ruined my credit with co's and settlements. I'm sure with time, good things will come 😊 at Cap 1 for you

congrats! some people never get CLIs or they ahve to fight like heck even after 15 years of being great customers.

when you opened the card, was it the "excellent" credit one? or "good"? Curious. my 14k QS I opened 5 mos ago is coming up for CLI request in a few more days! yeee!!

Thanks and thanks for the questions as well. I opened the one for "excellent" credit, ie., I was eligible for the 75,000 mile SUB with required spend at that time. Opened the card July 2022. I had 2 inquiries on EX and none on TU/EQ. And I was 0/6,2/12,2/24 for new accts. Was immediately approved for 10K albeit with highest APR( probably bc EQ which was my best bureau was frozen at the time of app, stupid move on my part).

After approval in July 2022, I expiremented with the cli

button either end or Aug/ early Sept. and somehow got 1K after just a month having the acct. I then waited about 5 months( although I kept trying) and was able to get 4K ( this was after spending around 1000 bucks...over that period. I couldn't meet SUB bc I was working on another one at time). After getting the card to around 15K in Jan 2023, I've been super fortunate to get these 1K cli's around every 3 months( self requested). I usually only spend about 40-100 bucks and PIF.
