Amex CLI to 50k

I finally took the plunge into asking for more than 35k from American Express. It ended up going to Financial Review. I went ahead and connected my personal Arvest checking and money market accounts to Amex. 5 days later, I got the email.

Fun Facts:

Hilton Surpass 3/2020

AU on Blue Everyday 3/2020 (now 35k)

Platinum Card 8/2020

Gold Card 10/2020

Blue Business Plus 2022 - 25k

Lowes Business - 4/2023 - 10k

Business Platinum 12/2023

On the Citi side of things, I did get a CLI on my Executive AA card that I got 9/20/23. I believe it was a 7k increase to 37,500.

What was the limit threshold that you think caused the FR?

personally, I've always thought it was 30-36k which I had spread out on three cards with Amex. I have never gone over that with them just because it seems like a hassle and BOA seems more than happy to extend me 40k+ but I also do some banking with BOA.

I am curious what is your next plan of action from this point app on other cards, ask for other CLI on current cards or garden for awhile?

I believe it's 35k, which is where I had it before this request. I did wait the full 180+ days to make the request.

I thought it would be more of a hassle and truth be told, I was hoping to not get a FR request. But they do make it easy if your banks support plaid.

If I said go to the garden, I'd be lying. I'll continue to work on raising credit limits. I'll probably close my personal Amex platinum and open a capital one venture X and maybe something from Wells Fargo for no good reason other to just add it to the collection. I may downgrade my Chase sapphire reserve this year as well. I'm starting to get too many annual fees. I've been working on business credit cards because they don't show up on my CA's. It would probably be best if I just quit for at least a year or two but......
