WF Autograph CLI

I didn't need a higher limit. It's my second highest limit anyway and I pretty much just put my cell phone bill on it. But what the heck? I haven't asked for an increase in over a year so I decided to call.

Was $18k. I asked for $22k. Was approved for $22k, A $4k increase. (Maybe I should have asked for more? Pfft. Maybe next time.)

Soft pull. Nervous because my reports are thawed and I know WF can do SP or HP. We seemed pretty clear that she would let me know if it wasn't automatically approved and then at that point it would be HP if I wanted to continue. We did not have to get to that point.

Perhaps the bigger news is that this pushes my aggregate credit card limit over $200k.

With the $400 from Capital One earlier today and the $4000 from Wells Fargo just now, I'm at $201,250.

I was going to just ask for $20k, but that would have left me painfully just short of $200k total. At the last minute I said $22k and got it

Not bad with $74k income.

40 months ago my aggregate was $15,370.

EDIT for DP: Wells Fargo has been my primary bank for around 24 years. I'm not sure if that helps. They know good and well that account usually has less than $50 in it. The day my direct deposit hits, that money gets shipped out to pay bills.

Congratulations to you on both of your limit increases and also on crossing over $200K in available credit! Thank you for sharing your experience and data points with us! I absolutely love that WF does soft pull limit increases and will warn you before needing to do a hard pull, and that they let you withdraw the request before doing said hard pull!

Congrats on the CLI, and thank you for the DP! It seems that they might be using higher checking balances as a mitigating factor when they're otherwise inclined not to grant a CLI - not as a factor to deny a CLI.

I guess they like me or something. I've had no problem growing this one.

SL was $9k on 10/17/21.

I asked for $18k, lol, but they gave me a $2300 bump to $11.3k on 7/22/22.

A little shy of six months later, I asked for $16k but got a $2900 bump to $14.2k on 1/07/23.

And here's the weird part: On 1/23/23, just a couple weeks after that last CLI, they gave me an auto-CLI to $18k
I didn't know if they made a mistake or what. That was more than I asked for in that CLI I'd just gotten. I kept expecting them to find their mistake and lower it back down. Also I'd gotten where I wasn't using the card as much, maybe a few hundred dollars per month. The $18k was one of my larger limits. So I didn't make another request for 15 months. Just leaving that one alone.

But I got the itch and asked for $22k yesterday and they gave me what I asked for.

All of these were SP CLIs.
