Chase Amazon Prime Visa Signature Approval! Back in with Chase!

Hello myFicoers!

I noticed quite a bit of recent Chase Amazon Prime VS approvals and decided to take a chance at an approval today.

Quick backstory (could be helpful for those in similar situations) - I burned Chase back in 2018 for about $8000, charged off the account and settled the debt through NDR. Since then, I could not open a bank account with them (don't know if I can now) and always received instant declines from them. Also, when checking the preapproval link on Amazon, it would always throw an error saying it could not access my TU report. I gave up trying about a year ago.

Anywho, I after seeing all the approvals I decided to try the prequalify link today, and BAM! It said I was prequalified, even though the Chase website said I was not preapproved. It also mentioned $200 in instant Amazon gift card and decided to submit my app, and BAM! 30 day message but it did not say I was not approved, only that the app was under review. About 10 minutes later, I received the approval email and welcome message.

I was approved for their Amazon Visa Signature card with a $12,000 SL (inital $5,500 credit limit) and a purchase APR of 23.99%. Also, the $200 Amazon gift card was deposited to my Amazon account right away - sweet! So, it looks like I am at least back in with Chase, albeit, not with one of their flagships, but with them nonetheless. I plan on handling this card with care to rebuild my profile with Chase. I have no current banking relationship with Chase.

It looks like Chase pull Experian for this approval. I was 7/24, 3/12, 0/6 on inquiries. Util is about 3% of available credit across all accounts. I am really happy about the Amazon gift card. Anywho, good luck to those trying to get back in with Chase and happy 4th!
