American Express Delta Skymiles Gold approval

I'm new to the forum, and I wanted to share a surprising approval I received from American Express for the Delta Skymiles Gold card.

I previously had the Amex Green card way back in 1988, but it was included in a Chapter 13 bankruptcy in 1990. I have been trying to get back in with Amex forever, particularly over the past 5 years, and I was finally approved yesterday with a credit limit of $1000. I know it is not very much, but I'll take it! I am just so excited to be an Amex member again. My account even says "Member since 88."

Some data points:

Income = 68,000

Scores = TU 677; EQ 686; EXP 669

Inquiries = TU 6; EQ 2; EXP 1

Cards = Cap 1 Platinum: 0/1100; Cap 1 Quicksilver One: 0/1100; Cap 1 Quicksilver: 300/2200; Cap 1 Savor One: 76/700; Discover: 0/200; Credit One: 0/1200

Auth User = Citi Simplicity: 6300/14000

Loans (2) = 13,000 and 1400

1 Collection account = I C System, Inc., 17% paid, balance $502

0 student loans (paid in full 2022)

No mortgage history

0 auto loans (paid in full in 2019)

Congrats and welcome! I think they recently increased the SUB for the Delta Gold, too. Pay it on time and you should be able to get a soft-pull 3x CLI after 91 days .

Yes dump that AU card and pay off that charge off, will more than likely help your score to increase and better chance for the bump to AE in 91 days

Congrats, @azgal ! I burned Amex in CH7 in 2009 for a few grand on the One card. The "one" that came with a savings account and was advertised by Ellen DeGeneres. LOL.

I just got back in with them last month for a BCP and Platinum and am working hard on my SUBs. My cards also say "member since 07" and they like to mention it when I call or chat for help. It feels kinda bad but they are a huge bank... they probably don't care about it as much as I do.
