3 weeks later - Jovia Advantage Platnum Visa

Long story short...

Apped for Jovia CU Advantage Platnum Visa Jul 13th.

Approved Jul 15th for $3.5k at 19% pending the funding of shared savings account. DL + x2 Residencial address proof requested

Uploaded proof same day.

Jul 19th called to see what the progress was since I never heard back. Rep stated they were very busy with a high influx of applicants and that I should get an email in 2 days.

Jul 25th used the messaging option on the app status page inquiring about an update on how to fund my shared savings so I can get things moving along since i never heard back.

Aug 5th still No response, so I messaged again from the status page requesting an update.

Aug 7th, they responded that they opened and funded the shared savings account for me with $5 and apologized for the delay. I setup my online login and was notified to expect my Platnum visa in 7 to 10 days.

I guess I'm now officially a Jovia client.

Now I just have to hope they double check that before mailing the platnum to the wrong place 🤔

The credit card management is outsourced to another company. The credit card company is different, but not better In fact in some ways it's even worse.

But I think they are not likely to use your deposit account information, since they're oblivious to even the existence of your deposit accounts.

But I think they are not likely to use your deposit account information, since they're oblivious to even the existence of your deposit accounts.

I don't mean to correct you, but you're mistaken. The credit card accounts are processed in-house with in house underwriters. The SOFTWARE that drives their backend is a first data product. This isn't unusual for many banks and credit unions. Most people don't know this, but First Data (aka Fiserv) handles about 40-50% (lastime I checked) of all US credit card and debit transactions.

A lot of banks pay First Data to white label their product's backend so that it appears as if the bank is using their wholely owned developed software, some chose to save the extra money.

One way to tell if a bank is using an intermediary third party, like many do with Elan, on the back of the card, you will see... Card issued by blank FI under a license by Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Amex, etc.

Take the Fidelity Visa Signature Card for an example. On the bottom of the card, you will see that the creditor and issuer is Elan Financial Services.

Also, when I called Jovia to discuss my accounts with them, the CSR could see my deposit accounts, my credit card, my limit, and when they shipped the card.

I actually woke up the next morning to an email informing me my address was updated to a new address to send the visa to, so never needed to call.

Guess I updated it just in time. As they do seem to use the address on the deposit account to ship to. 😉

Update: So, apped on Jul 13th, approved on Jul 17th, they finally opened the shared savings on Aug 7th saying card mailed, I updated the wrong address on Aug 8th they created the deposit account with to the correct address I had on the app, and today, Aug 17th I finally received the credit card and activated it.

The whole process took a little over a month to complete.

Hopefully everything goes smoother from here on out with them 😉
