Barclay Arrival World MasterCard Approved!!!

Applied online yesterday, application denied. Called recon this morning and after speaking to an analyst and verifying some information, I was approved for $1000. Too restrictive of a limit, considering I'll be using it heavily for travel. Is it possible to recon initial CL with Barclay or are they good with showing auto luv?! Anyways I'm glad to get an approval from them...

Congrats on the approval. It can't hurt to try to recon your CL. Just tell them what you told us, it's a pretty solid reason.

Yes you can recon the limit on activation I believe it may be an additional HP, not sure though. They are good with CLIs if you treat them right.

Yes you can recon the initial CL....I was approved last Friday and yesterday I did a recon for a cli and was approved.

I called 18664084064. No I havent received the card yet. When speaking to them tell them why you need the increase I basically told them I would be using my card for flights for my family and I did not feel comfortable with the limit as it would cause me to get closer to maxing it out. I also told them I would like to make this card my main and that I currently run thousands through my AMEX each month.

Yes you can call back once you get the card, call to activate it and talk to an actual person, tell them you want to activate, and also talk about your initial credit limit. I did this, went from 4k, to 10k. It will be another HP, but I just mentioned my other cards were higher.

Also on a side note; unfortunately, it will not be a WORLD master card, it will be a platinum. And you will need to reapply at another time, to get the WORLD status. For it to be a world, your initial approval must be minimum 5k CL. Even though mine was 4k, and bumped immediately to 10k, mine also is still a platinum.

My Barclay's Rewards Mastercard was upgraded automatically to a World card when I only had a $4200 credit line.

Quick update - you guys were right, the card they approved me for is the Arrival not the World but it's funny cos if you check their website this same Platinum card is labelled World MasterCard smh but anyways that's by the way. I tried to recon the CL and the rep flat out gave me the boot claiming that's the max they can approve for my account. Talk about someone with scores of over 720, low INQs and 0 negatives smh... Hah! Oh well, it is well! thumbs down Barclay!!!

Okay let's put the confusion away. The card I applied for as it's listed on their website is Barclaycard Arrival World MasterCard any other thing I have no idea. Signature, platinum I don't know...
