Wells Fargo soft pull CLI approved

Its been about 6 months since i last applied to increase the limit on my Wells Fargo card so i decided to call in and request again. I asked for a 5k limit increase and they countered with a 1,900k limit increase which i accepted. My new limit is now 11,900 on my active cash card.

I took advantage of 2 balance transfer offers which put utilization at over 50% on two cards and that has lowerd my score about 40 points so i bet that is why i didn't get the full amount i requested but i am still very happy with the results. Current scores are all hovering around 680 on all 3 reports. In 6 months i should have those balances paid down below 30% on each card ,which should greatly increase my score, so i will try again then and report my new scores and how much more they give at that time.

Wells Fargo has never turned down a CLI request i have made since i have had the card so i'm very pleased. Woo hoo!

Congrats on the CLI. I was HP'd one my first CLI on my Autograph Card but SP'd on my 2nd requested increase. I made my request after one year after both an Active Cash and the Autograph card I was admin'd product change.
On my second CLI request I had to travel some 30 miles to a walk in branch to show ID in person for verification purposes. I don't have a relationship with Wells other than my Auto g card.

Just did a credit limit increase for My wells fargo reflect from 13k to 17.5k. Got a alert from Wells fargo credit monitoring stating a new inquiry. It was a hard pull on expirian. No mention that I can recall stating a hard pull will initiate for the increase. Nothing on Trans nor equfax. Pulled from from s. Florida on a Sunday after noon.

@Satoshi_inu Yes I have been told they now require hard pulls for increases. And I believe I read the warning about this when I clicked on the increase request both online and through the app. I got my soft pull increases through customer service by calling them and I asked if there would be a hard pull or not and all of mine were soft pulls but I've been told even calling now requires a hard pull. Just fyi.

Congrats on the CLI @user979797 . I will be exploring a WF CLI in a couple weeks to accomodate a BT offer I received in the mail. Like many, I've heard they went back to HPs but perhaps I can get a SP increase (?). I will report back a DP either way...

Each request for CLI with WF requires a HP from August 2025 even if agents don't especially mention you about the HP....
