AMEX Blue Cash Preferred Approval

Today I decided to see if I was pre approved for any AMEX cards, and I ended up getting pre approved for the Blue Cash Preferred. I don't have a great grocery card so I wanted to add this card in. I plan on getting the Gold and Platnium cards in the future so I felt like this was a good first step at getting in with AMEX. I put everything through and I got approved for a 18.5k CL. Highest CL card I have now, it beat my NFCU card by 4.5k. Nice boost I got today.

I would go through with it! I got a $300 welcome bonus instead of the $250. That was my point where I said I might as well get it. For groceries I've been relying on my Discover and Chase Freedom Flex quarterly 5% if that category comes up, so if you're in a similar situation having a constant 6% is pretty good. CL wise I wasn't expecting 18.5k, my highest CL was with my NFCU Cash Rewards Plus (13k after an increase). From what I've seen they're pretty generous, and seeing that you already have a relationship with AMEX I wouldn't be surprised if they gave you something good. Good luck

Nice! I love BCP. It's my most used card that gives me the most cash back. BCE is a nice no AF card, too, that you might think about. My wife got that after she got her BCP with no hard pull. 3% on all online shopping is great. It includes Amazon and Walmart if you use Walmart Pay.

Can you let me know what credit bureaus they pulled for this app? Also, did they require any proof of income?

I don't really know which one they pulled from but they didn't require proof of income. They just wanted to know how much you make each year roughly. @Mastermind_5D

Congrats BCP is probably one of my fav cards I have. I find with minimal spending I exceed the yearly annual. Little hidden hack Apple gift cards are coded as streaming with them...6% cash back, then I get my Veterans discount on buying a Apple product stacked with buying a refurb lolol. 16% if not buying refurb even more if you do!

Congrats—I recently got the BCP, though I'm not sure whether I'm going to keep it or downgrade at the end of year 1.

I can also confirm that recurring Apple charges end up getting the 6% "streaming" benefit, so it's my main Apple subscriptions card they decide to stop that. I would say to be careful as always with gift cards though.
