She had some very serious health issues and had no income for few years. It's a long story but we had to let many accounts charge off during this madness BUT all of those derogotories are are now gone. We diligently paid her remaining 6 open revolving accounts at least the minimum and when we could more. Today, she owes under $2700 total to all creditors. Of the accounts she kept, only 1 creditor ever closed her account due to not meeting their credit standards-Citizen Bank CC-but we got them to set the remaining balance to 0% until the account is paid off. Her EX FICO 9 is now 721 per PNC/her EX FICO 8 is now 721 from EX directly. Her TU Fico 8 is was 705 per Discover as of 2/20/25 but I am sure it's higher now due to several cards being paid down to Zero that have not yet reported.

I helped her request this increase and it was a SP for sure and approved within 30 second of submission or pehaps even less.

She will be car shopping in August/later this year and a CU that we belong to merged with another very restricted membership CU in our area and they have the BEST rates for 2025/2026 models I can find in Western PA (Pittsburgh area). She will get preapproved from this CU post conversion to their data platform and they don't require POI if your TU Fico 8 is 750 or above-which I will ensure she has. She can provide POI but it is nice knowing this CU's process (which has not changed in many years & is NOT expected to change). When we get down to the final price with our preferred dealer (we buy our cars are the same dealer-HA-as did our father) -we will spring that preapproval on them and if they can beat it-so be it-but we will know what the max preapproved rate is and go with this awesome CU, if need be. I hope the dealer is ableto beat this CU but I haven't purchased a car since the 1990's without having a preapproved loan from outside the dealer that meets my budget. Most times-this dealer has been able to beat these preapprovals but a couple of times they could not even get close.

Very restricted field for membership-Greater Pittsburgh Police FCU https://www.gppfcu.com

PHEPLE FCU has a more open field of membership -https://www.pheplefcu.org/- see below and the offer a relationship based auto loan pricing discount as delailed below-this data is a 3/26/2025 email from a lender at this credit union responding to my very deatailed questions regarding their auto lending process, what score they use and how to obtain their relationship pricing discounts. I don't know if my sister will wnat to open even another checking account and credit card just to get a lower rate but she does lives within 15 miles of a branch of this CU.

If you live, work, worship, or attend school in Allegheny, Armstrong, Fayette, Washington, or Westmoreland Counties you can be a member of Pheple FCU.

"1. Do you do pre-approvals for Auto Lending? If yes-how long (30 days, 45 days, 60 day, etc). are those preapprovals valid for?"

- Yes we do! Our pre-approvals are good for 45 days.

"2. What Credit Bureau do you use and what score model (FICO 8 or whatever the model is) is required to obtain you lowest rate for a 72 month loan?"

- We use Experian for our credit reports. Our A+ paper rating is a score of 740+. For a 72 month loan, our base rates (before any potential discounts) for A+ scores are: New Auto - 5.99% and Used Auto - 6.49%

"3. Will you require proof of income? Another competitor CU she is looking at (and is already a member of) does not require this to provide preapprovals if the applicant has a 750 or greater Trans Union FICO 8 score. She has this-she's anywhere between 780-795 on a month to month basis across all 3 credit bureaus. She will be able to provide Proof of Income, if required, but she wants to be prepared, if needed."

We do require proof of income with any of our loans. If she is currently working, we will need 1 months' worth of paystubs. If she is not currently working and collects social security or a pension, we will just need either the letter from social security that states the yearly benefit or 2 months of statements showing the direct deposit.

"4. To obtain the Relationship Pricing rates there for if she opens a checking account & sets up auto pay-can the preapproval credit pull be used to open the Visa Credit Card card to qualify for that rate reduction also? She is also above age 60-does the Legacy Members: age 60 and up qualification simply refer to age or is a Legacy member someone who was a member for from the past and she would not qualify for this as she would be a brand new member? That'd really not explained well in your website. If she would not qualify for the Legacy member rate reduction, that's fine so I am looking for the current 72 month rate for a new vehicle including an open checking, an open Visa Credit Card, auto pay enabled for the Auto Loan. If she would qualify for the Legacy member rate reduction-please also include the best available rate including all rate reductions as of the day this request is replied to for a 72 month vehicle."

- We have 5 possible relationship discounts (all of our discounts are 0.25% off of the base rate): 1. Automatic Payment, 2. Checking Account with us, 3. Visa Credit Card with us, 4. Legacy Member, and 5. Member for 10+ years.

For the Visa Credit Card, we do not have to pull credit multiple times. Once we pull a credit report, it is good for 30 days for any loan inquiries. So when we would pull credit for the auto loan pre-approval, we would not have to pull credit again for the Visa Credit Card.

For the Legacy member discount, all this means is that she would be over the age of 60. As simple as that.

As far as the rate goes with the discounts, it sounds like we will have 4 discounts, so that would be 1.00% off of our base rate - new or used. If credit comes back 740+, new rate - 4.99%, used - 5.49%

"5. Do you have Payment to Income ratio requirements? If so-what is the maximum ratio you would allow for a 72 month loan? She's unconcerned about Debt to Income as she has less than $3000 in debt -which will be lower by the time she will actually begin loan & car shopping. That debt is at Zero% APR anyway and she lives frugally with no housing, utility or grocery expenses."

- We do look at the debt to income ratio and the unsecured debt ratio. Both of those are tied in with income. If there is not a mortgage/rent payment per month and there is not a lot of unsecured debt, that is not something to worry about.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I hope all of this data helps others in the community.
