HP after approval?

hi all,

I tried the "see if you're preapproved" for the Kohl's Capital One Visa yesterday (4/10) and it said yes so I applied. they did a HP on TU and approved me.
this afternoon I got another alert that capital one had pulled EX and thought at first maybe I was just getting notified late. Nope, the inquiry date is definitely 4/11.

is that normal? I've never had something like that happen before. I froze everything just in case ..

Only two hard pulls for a Capital One card? It's your lucky day! Most people get three!

Seriously though, every Cap One card my wife and I have ever gotten (4 total) had instant hard pulls as soon as we applied. There was never a delay. Is it possible the pull happened when you applied and the email notification was just delayed?

Also, I have found that some reported pull dates are incorrect. I've had two instances where the pull date is listed a day earlier than when I applied. Weird.

cap1 cards typically pull all 3, did they pull you through a credit freeze? or did you just get the notification later on that ex had already been pulled

and no, EQ was frozen the whole time.

thanks all! I'm sure it was just maybe a delay in the notification, reporting date is still weird but I'm not going to worry about it.
