West Elm Visa Siggy FINALLY A CLI - after 18 months!!! 3k to 9k!!!!!

Hi All,

long story on this card, I was pre approved, but then had to prove my income and identity because I applied at one am in the morning they told me.

I gave them everything they needed and they stuck me at a 3k cl with a 670 FICO and maybe like 5% util at the time (this was one of the first cards into my rebuild);

I have been hittin' the luv button every month since account opening and getting the weirdest reasons like "not eligible due to evaluating certain accounts for certain reasons" and not credit scores provided... very odd.

I ran about 6k through the card 2-3 months in a row and even let a balance sit for one month to toss em a bone.

so then for that past year I've continued to keep it zero'ed out, but spending about 100-300 on it a month for fun and again, pif in full before due date and before statement cuts to keep it zeroed out....

well finally today, I though might as well go try it again and BAM OFFERED 9k!!!! My Ficos are only about 30 points higher and util about 20% now.

I have paid more of my student loans and more of my MBFS loan down, my income is more than sufficient..

I AM SO EXCITED!!!! now if I wanted I could actually use it at West Elm store for furniture and not completely flub my util. Otherwise, I've earned about 300-400 in west elm cash to use, and you get a 25 dollar birthday thing every year. I just rememeber when comenity had the west elm card, circa 2013-2014, things were a lot cheaper and if I bought a couch on my 4k line which grew to 6k before I stopped using it, it wouldnt mess up my util.

I KNEW eventually this card would start giving me big CLIs because the Pottery Barn one does as does the whole host of cards Like the Williams Sonoma one does too! Theyre like different levels of brands/quality I guess.

Oh, I also did use it for a cash advance once at the advice of a dumb CSR who said that I wouldn't be charged interest on that either as long as I pif. He clearly didn't know what he was talking about because they did, at one point, use that against me, even though I paid that in full within days of making that mistake. YAY!!!!!

This is a great card afterall!

thank you all!!! and for the kudos! so happy it FINALLY grew! I can actually do my normal spend without messing up util now and maybe stop having to keep everything zero'ed out and let a couple balances report. lol I'm gearing up to reach 800 FICO by December or January when most of my inquiries will fall off and at least 5 of my newest accounts will age to two years+.

Next goal: citi card & Chase!

I started building credit right before the financial crisis my first time and was bucketed after they stopped cli's on my (and most others') first c1 plat card at 1700 I think? Then in 2013 ish finally got Dickie Fairbanks' EO to CLI to 5k, PC to VentureOne and lower my rate back down to 13.9 (still never matched my og rate of 9% mighta been 7 cant exactly remember from so long ago);

point is, its nice to have more than triple what Capital One would ever give me even w higher score in the past.

but I did hours of research and "The Key Rewards" cards are growers as are most furniture/ appliance cards. Its also a visa Siggy (which I realize doesnt mean much these days but its a good looking card tbh).

thx again! Cant wait to see if I can get it up to the 20-45k like a few others here who routinelt get big clis from this card!! Already proved my income and I just got a 5% merit based raise for my whole team! (My work doesnt use TWN however lol)
