Barclays Approval.

So i have been in the garden for about 5 months now.

My credit score was in the low 500's due do being really stupid @ the age of 18.

now my FICO score is 657 so i went on a little spree...

I was just approved for Barclays Rewards for $500

I also applied for Discover It, and Chase Freedom. Both said they were under "review". Is there anything i can do to help my situation?

What is a recon exactly?

Also, Should i wait for the letter to come in the mail, or should i call them directly first?

You call the backdoor number, we have a sticky somewhere with all the numbers, and ask them to reconsider your application. Just talk to a live person because the computer doesn't really look at your report and a person can.

Congratulations! I was denied the Barclays card but called the backdoor number listed here for a recon and I was approved! I also received the "wait for a letter" message on some other cards but ended up calling and was informed that I had already been approved before receiving any letters.

So i called the other backdoor #'s and they told me I was denied. O Well, you win some and you lose some.

Time to garden for 1 year.

Update!!!

I called the backdoor number and after an amazing convo with a Credit Analyst there she with no questions asked upped my CL $500

Great news! Congrats! I wonder if I can do the same, but I don't want to push my luck since I was denied in the first place

Congratulations with Barclays, they are great to deal with, they gave me a $3,500 CLI after 6 months. The other cards will come to you eventually, just be patient. Good luck

Congrats! I keep reading about the Barclay card. What scoring model do they use? Is this a card one should apply for if working on increasing their credit score?
