No other cards with Barclays. I did apply for this same card last February and was denied. I did call recon back then and they said I had too many inquiries and to wait about 6 months and try again. I'm not sure if that helped for this time. I applied for 3 cards on the same day with this one being the last. I know that Barclays almost always pulls transunion. The citi app only pulled experian then the chase pulled both experian and transunion. I froze experian for the red aviator app.

I got approved for the very same card last month, but with the lowest CL I ever have... $2k... I got a promotional code with the application while flying with American Airlines... I regretted that I responded to the promotional code and application that I got in the AA flight because I am darn sure that it has something to do with such a credit limit; otherwise I have 846 score across the board, no any inquiries in last 24 months... only 2 new cards in 24 months... good income and have another Barclay's card with a CL of $39k for the last 12 years.

So, I immediately contacted Barclay's credit dept to ask them to increase my credit limit.... Firsr agent only took some of my financial info and transferred my call to credit analyst who said that they would softly pull my credit report and would review other info on the application.... and then a few minutes she returned to tell me that she could increase my limit to $25k...

On the other side, Barclay decreased my CL today AGAIN from $39k to $5k like what they have been doing TWICE for the last year... So far I was able to get my CL reinstated each time but not today. They declined to reinstate my CL and said that decline letter would be in the mail... I dont know the reason as of now as to why my CLI request got denied but I assume that it could be a higher balance on one of my cards which I used last month to take the advantage of totally 0% APR for 18 months with no fees...and took $25k... So, I assume this balance might be the reason but my total available credit limit is 1.4M... So, having a balance of $25k shouldnt be a problem... I guess but I dont know... I am very much disappointed and sad for getting CLD on this card...

The Aviator card is going to be leaving Barclays soon. It will likely become a Citi card. That may be part of why they are acting weird.

No, my issue wasn't about Aviator card, rather it was/is about their Arrival+ card which is not available for new customers as Barclay's has discontinued this card for the last 2-3 years, I guess. I am holding this card for the last 11 years...There wasn't any problem until last year, at least in my case, when Barclay's has started to slash CL a big time, like from $39k to $5k in my case, twice a year or every 5 months later. And when I googled it, I found they have been doing for millions of customers worldwide. So far I was able to get my CL reinstated by calling customer service by putting a CLI request thru soft pull but a few days ago they declined me and yesterday I got the letter as to why they declined.

The decline letter states that a recent credit line change was done on my account, thus they couldn't approve this time. Recent credit line change was done this last May, 5 months ago, when they did CLD from $39k to $5k, and I called them and requested CLI and was able to get it, so this time their system denied me which means Barclay's approves CLI request only every 6 months even though most agents and even their credit analysts would say otherwise that one can request for CLI at anytime without waiting for a specific time. However, keep it mind that if you request for CLI by yourself thru online or even thru the customer service then system would decline you if your previous CLI request was approved less than 6 months ago which was in my case this time...because customer service agents also collect financial information from you and feed those info in the system...and system makes the decision. So, when my request for CLI denied this time, I requested my call to be transferred to credit analyst in credit dept...I spoke with credit dept....They typically ask pretty much the same 2-3 questions like your annual income and what you do and you own the house or renting...that's about it...However, they don't depend on system. They right away were able to reinstate my previous credit limit yesterday...Thanks God...I have 847 credit score...I want to stop this CLD and seems like the only option is- get another Barclay's card and transfer all CL to that card, if possible...but I am hesitant to get any personal card as of now because I don't want to lose my spot for 5/24 as I have been getting tons of business and 2-3 personal Chase card for the last 6 months...for which I gardened two years. I am gonna think about in next few months as to what to do with this Barclay's card which I never used more than $100 in 11 years while having CL of $39k which I totally understand why Barclay's want to slash it out. I have been paying $95 AF all these for nothing because I never ever utilized any of its benefits.

As for Aviator then yes this card would go to Citi in February, 2026. I guess, since this card is leaving to Citi, Barclay's gave me a toy limit but when I contacted their credit department and requested to increase the limit, they did, maybe given my score and other factors. This card also have AF, waived first year though....I don't like cards with AF...
