I recently got the CareCredit Rewards Mastercard for some dental work I'm having done. Haven't used it yet. Actually just activated the card yesterday.

This morning I asked for a $5k CLI from the $10k SL to $15k and was instantly approved.

I have an estimated cost of $10,251. (Implants, etc.) Probably spread out over several sessions of several thousand dollars each in the next few months.
I didn't want to charge $10k on a $10k card and have 100% utilization, so I asked for a CLI before even using it.

I still don't really understand how the 0% financing works. I have to ask them about it at the dentist office? They are part of the CareCredit network (I think, since they have flyers up in every room with links to apply for CareCredit). Do I have to make the purchase and then see if they offer me 6 months, 12 months, or more? (Hoping for more.) Don't relly want to put thousands of dollars on it and find I only have 6 months to pay it off before getting hit with their huge interest charges.

Tell the office you want the 0% financing plan. The options for 0% is based on the amount charged and the deal that the dentist office has with CareCredit.

Yeah, we discussed it and tried it different ways. I needed to pay ~$4k today and it offered me 6 months at 0%.
She also tried to see what would happen if they charged the whole ~$10k now to see if it would give different options. It didn't. Still 6 months at 0%

With either amount, it also offered reduced interest plans of 17.90% for up to two years, I think, and 18.90% for periods longer than that.
That doesn't really help. I have cards with higher limits and everyday rates of 17.99% (PenFed PCR) and 18.00% (NFCU cashRewards Plus) that both pay me 2% back on every purchase. I'd put it on one of them before using CareCredit's reduced interest plan. 6 months at 0% might help a little, for this first $4k. But when I go back for more, I may not use CareCredit. We'll see.

I used mine for a big Vet bill I had this summer. But they offered 12 months. So I did that and plan to balance transfer what is left to my cashRewards before the deferred interest kick in.

Agreed. Evaluate alternative payment methods for future work to ensure the initial $4k is paid off before 6 months.

Each dental office sets their own available 0% finance offers. The 0% financing offers are based around purchase amount, however, only seeing 6 months means one of two things...the office doesn't offer anything past 6 months 0% (plenty of other dental offices offer up to 24 mo 0% on Care Credit) or have an unrealistic minimum purchase amount for their longer no interest options.

The dental office had to call CareCredit to see what they would offer. I was standing there when she called.

But this is a clinic with several different locations. I suppose it's possible she was actually calling someone else within that same company and not actually calling CareCredit.

What you're saying makes sense, it just doesn't jive with what I saw and heard myself, unless she was just calling some finance person at another office of the same company. That is possible.

So I guess she was just talking to someone else in the same company, and not to CareCredit. If they'd offered me 0% for 24 months, I probably would have put the whole $10k on there. But no matter how she broke it up, they only gave me 6 months of no interest. I may have misunderstood, or maybe they were intentionally vague about it and let me assume that Care Credit made that decision.
