AmEx Green approval!

A little late here - got approved for AmEx Green a few weeks ago. 40k MRs for bonus.

Its been great being back in with AmEx after burning them about 8 years ago.

Got Delta Gold in July, 80k miles bonus. Delta Platinum in September for 100k miles bonus. Currently working on the $250 bonus for their checking.

Data point: I did get denied the CLI for Gold for "too many requests for credit". We'll see if I can get it when they let me request for the Platinum. My initial CL approvals were $1k for Gold and $2,400 for Platinum. I have since moved $400 over to Platinum.

Definitely going to cool it down now! Given that I currently have small limits, the Green charge card is nice. Plus broad 3x travel category.

Mid next year I'll apply for Delta Reserve and complete my "climbing up the ladder" for Delta bonuses. Plan to have Reserve be the Delta card I keep long term.

Thanks AmEx! Now if only Elan will increase my $500 Fidelity limit. Denied there for CLI due to too many new cards, opened that one in May.

Got majority of the cards I want now, so going to focus on growing CLIs for the next 6-8 months.

Congrats on getting back in with Amex and your approval ! Elan Fidelity did the same thing to my DW. She was not happy. for 2 years she used it like a debit card, swipe and pay, swipe and pay, no auto CLI. She refuses to request a CLI and take the HP. Stuck at the $500 SL. As was your case, she app'd shortly after an app spree and Elan was their usual conservative self.

Thank you for the data point. I've been letting majority of that $500 limit report. I'm hoping that after 12-18 months I can get a big limit. It's my catch all card so I'm very limited in being able to use it.

And to the first comment yeah those are lots of annual fees! Really good value with the statement credits and accruing Delta status though.

Consider focusing on growing CLs for the next 18 months with no new cards. Youngest card aging to 12 months can boost score and reduced credit seeking behavior can improve CLI success rate.

A little late but congrats!! I'm looking to apply for the Green card myself as my first charge card (I only have Everyday Preferred and Business Plus with AMEX). I know it's a fairly simple card but how has your experience with it been so far?
