Finally. After 2 months I got approved for Barclays

Went through two months of back and forth with Barclays but finally was able to get approved today.

The verification was a nightmare, as I've sent four copies of everything before it was finally resolved.

1. Certified mail.

2. Clear front and back of SS Card and DL

3. Clear Bank Account Statement

4. Copy of the letter you got requesting verification.

5. Make sure your application number are on all pages.

6. Make sure that the address is listed to Card Services.

I was approved for 6k with LOL/24.

The discounts for Unpromise when buying gift cards for video games will be used.

This card also has @MoneyBurns I think a 0% intro period for 15 months. You could use that to help pay off your student loans potentially if that's your goal and then that would assist in reducing your personal financnial risk to the student loan providers/company whether public or private as they have the ability to block you from discharge in BK, and student loans can be taken from almost every government benefit or entitlement ( ie social security if its still around for us). Unsecured debt is always easier to handle than secured, and while student loans don't have tangible collateral necessarily.. the government has made these loans, most certainly the result of lobbying, almost impossible to ever get rid of (aside from doing the right thing and paying them off BUT if you get into a bad situation..) I remember using the blank checks they would send me to buy cars for 0% for 14 months IIRC (thereby using unsecured funds to secure an asset) and helping to pay down my student loans when they wanted to slash my 20k limit for non use.

food for thought! and congrats and please be careful with them, Barclay's .. Im surprised they approved you at all considering how they hate inquiries and new accounts. An overseas rep told me I had "a whole lot of inquiries" in broken english on the phone with a grand total of 6 in two years. LOL these people
