I had 1 month a few months ago where I only spent like $100. When I got the "no comparable limits" denial. I moved my spend to other cards to try to get my other limits up. Which took some spend away from chase.

So my spend for the past few months has been lower than usual, but still $1800-2200 each month. (Other than that singular month where I spent $200) the lowest spend for any given month was $1800. Average spend is $3000-3500.

I have no doubt my spend is the reason I've had such good luck with chase. As they seem to value spend and paying in full over all else.

In fact I was shocked when they denied me for "no comparable lines" because in my experience they don't usually care about that sort of thing. In my experience, As long as you spend enough and pay in full, they will keep increasing you.

but then again, my profile was barely any different when I applied this time. And this time they didn't seem to care at all about my other limits. Probably because I had moved my spend back to chase again knowing I was going to apply for the increase.

when I applied I had a $2800 balance, with 2 weeks left on my cycle. So on pace to spend $4000 or so

It has been 6 months since my last cli with chase. Decided to try the love button.

went from 10k to 15k. Instant approval. Applied over the phone with a rep.

interesting side note- I have never been denied for an increase when I apply with a rep. But I have when I applied on the app. And then when I was declined on the app I would call in for recon and get approved.

so perhaps calling in gives better chances? No idea

Funny story about that. They were already my largest limit by a good margin. I applied a few months ago and was denied due to "no comparable credit lines". I had increased my Amex limit from 1k to 6k. Making, My next highest limit Amex at 6k

I applied for the cli thinking chase soft pulled TU for some reason, I later figured out that they soft pulled exp. And exp still had my Amex limit reporting at 2k since they hadn't updated yet

this made my best highest limit capital one at 5k. So it was already double my next highest line. And they increased it to triple.

so the only difference between this time and last time, was Amex was now at 2k instead of 1. But for some reason they still approved me for a 5k increase.

Makes me wonder if I would have gotten more of an increase if my Amex had been reporting 6k on experian like it was on trans and equifax.

also makes me wonder, could I have waited another 1/2 months so my Amex limit was at 18k. Could they had potentially tried to best Amex and put me at 20k? Who knows.

Either way I'm really happy with the increase. And chase has been someone who doesn't care about the "6 month time frame" with me. So maybe I'll apply for another increase in 3 months when my Amex is reporting 18k and see if they do indeed want to try to beat them to get my business.

congratulations!

Id call that a good cli. I just got $9000 to $10800 on prime. My highest is $27000 on amex. Maybe I'd do better to call. Do you put a lot of spend on it? I never go over $500, usually less.

Other than the occasional chase deal I only use prime for amazon, not one of my top categories. I set a goal to get all accounts above $10000, not for any good reason. This meets that goal.

My straggler is savior, my second oldest open account, at $4200. I have another card that also gives 3% on dining. I'd close savior, but once in a while I see a cap1 offer I like.
