Shop Your Way Approval!

I posted about this earlier but it got flagged as spam for some reason. Probably because of the numbering of the post with the name of the card.

I was approved today for their card with the 500k and additional 100k offer. Have a lot of opened accounts last 24 months.

Income is about 70k.

Only got 2.2k but isn't a problem as I can spend and then pay it off right away.

The offer showed up on my Facebook feed so I was suprised to see the offer there. I have gotten a prior one in the regular mail but that was for 12 no APR and 2x rewards which is useless to me.

Happy to have gotten this awesome offer ✨

Be careful not to credit cycle as some issuers can take serious AA in those cases. I think you probably already know this, but worth stating just in case.

My Citi Thank You MasterCard still gets the monthly bonuses. Right now it's spend $600 in groceries and get $60 back. In addition theres a spend $750 and get $25.

I got the 5 (and so on) Visa as it has the 500k offer. That was the only thing that would of made me pull the trigger. Otherwise I'd just use as much as I could on Citi Thank You (up to whatever bonus).

As for the new card, I don't know. I don't have it on possession yet. I haven't heard of any offers for this card other than on DoC for said 500k bonus.

Does anybody know when the wait list for this card will open back up? At the time and still even now, I got high balances to pay off so it wasn't the most optimal time to apply when it happened but maybe in the near future if I see actual offers that people post about. There is no way I could spend $600 on groceries just for myself in a month unless I really stocked up with protein meal replacement sdhakes or something lol.

It's when you have a low limit card and you spend up to the limit, then pay it off, and then spend to the limit again, pay it off (and again, and again) in a single monthly cycle. Some people do it for the rewards, others because they believe it might help get them a CLI. But many banks frown on it and some will sometimes take serious AA, including closing the account without warning.

Which issuers take AA? Capital One is known to close accounts. There are others, but I don't have a list. I just wouldn't do it with any issuer.
