Just Got another Limit Increase from HSBC!!!!

They told me my HSBC Platinium MC will not get any more any CLI. It will stuck at $14K. Today, I took a chance to ask for another CLI. Here is the result:

No, I don't have to maintain the minimum balance for both savings and checking. It was old account. I opened it a long time ago. I believe they require the minimum to avoid the monthly service charge. The benefits of the card is to give cash back or miles. It has no annual fee and no foriegn transaction fee. I think you can open the account at the branch in LA area.

Ah I see.

I was just curious because there's a HSBC right downstairs from where I live.

They're not so prominent in the States, which is why I didn't apply for their card or checking products in the US. But now that they're downstairs, it's kinda convenient for me lol.

HSBC is one of the big banks in the world. I saw a lot of branches when I was in LA. They also have a lot branches in Hong Kong. They don't have any branch outside NY. and CA. They charge their deposit account's service as much as the other big banks.
