3x BOA (Not Amex) CLI!!!

As the title states.... Boa has given me a 3x cli!

Got the card in April with a $1k CL. The day I got the card I called the backdoor and requested for $5k and was APPROVED.

Card usage:
Got the card on April 22nd, made small purchase and PIF the moment it posted, May used $1000 and PIF, June used $1500 and PIF. Yesterday I used the card up to $2k still has the balance since i wont be PIF till the end of July. Since I recently got approved for BCE ($3k cl) and AMEX Green I was contiplating if I should try my luck with either Discover (since I was unhappy with the BCE cl) or requesting for a cli with boa. Went with boa! Called the line and the 1st person I spoke too asked for some basic info and was surprised I was asking for $15k. Couple seconds later it seemed like she was surprised and put me on hold to speak to a credit analyst about my "approval". At that time I was already shaking and was "like oh damn!!! I'm gonna get!! " credit analyst gets on the line and asks the same questions such as income and reason and other random questions... Then she said the words "mind if I place you on hold?" At that time I was thinking "damn.... It's either denied or countered to a $1000 cl". But nope! When she got back on she said the magic words "congratulations, your new line is $15k and blah blah blah blah (after $15k came out her mouth along with congrats I didn't hear anything else) .... While this was happening I was driving and started yelling "he'll yeah!!!!" Like a crazy man...

Anyways.... If you ever wondered if it was possible. YES IT IS! Not like the 61 day rule with Amex but hey, they do it too! No more cards, no more apps! I'm gardening since I've reached my goal! Gonna hold of till next year or two!

BOA is amazing, giving out lots of love lately! I, too, got the BOA Cash Rewards last week w/ 1k CL. Perhaps I should try this tactic in 3 months! I'll keep you guys posted, too. Congrats on your lovely CLI!

@bears I got the 123 rewards card.

@armbenderc not sure yet. But when I first applied they pulled both TU and EXP.

@davesignal my income is $75k. Been banking with boa for 10 years with direct deposit. And we recently applied for a biz loan from them along with a biz card. Bu that's mostly on my wife's info. Meaning I'm only an Au on the biz credit card.

@yudeology101 I say call them now and speak to a credit analyst. You never know!

@HiLine. I guess. She seemed really surprised though. As if it was her first day and I was the first person she spoke with who asked me such a high increase. Iono...

Congrats! I have nothing but love for boa!! In 9 months I went from having the 99/500 card with them to it being upgraded to a 5k visa signature!!

I am thinking about doing that too, since I live with my wife. My rent is almost $2000. My wife doesn't actually pay any part of this, but she is technically a co-applicant on the lease, so she is just as responsible for paying it as me. Due to this, I am trying to rationalize that I can say my rent owed is $1000.

Since you and your wife live together you should declare household income.

How much of a credit limit increase are you going to ask for? As long as your family income is in the six digits you should be able to get a total credit limit of 15k or more.

This morning, I logged onto to my boa account and checked my avail credit again just to make sure I wasn't just dreaming. It's really a great feeling. For me its not really about just getting a high limit on a card (India I know some people have lines of $40k + but for me $15k feels like a $100k limit) instead,its more satisfying knowing that my credit has come to the point where I can get instant approvals and banks will start chasing after me (for the right reasons and not to collect)....

My credit was crushed 10 years ago and I didn't have anything as far as credit until 2012.

15k limit on one card is a huge milestone indeed! Congratulations! You have come a long way to where you are standing now. The dark ages are over!

@davesignal ... I do want to add a few things on what I have done with Boa.. When I paid my balance in full month to month it was on multiple payments. For example, June I had a balance of $1500 (all my amounts stated were rounded up in case your wondering) I paid $500 each Friday until PIF.

@hiline.... Thank you again. And yes the dark ages have certainly passed. I'm not an emotional dude but damn I was near tearing up when it hit me last night (checked my boa account before sleeping also) ...

I haven't even told my wife. Cuz her credit has always been great and didn't seem to understand why I was always on myfico.com and got excited when approved.
