Just a quick update on the Recon.

When I called, I was asked the usual stuff to verify my identity (last 4 ss# etc.). I immediately preempted the guy and explained that I am rebuilding credit, and did not want high utilization on the account I had just opened a few weeks before. After that remark, the CA was very helpful, and instanly approved me.

I think the key is to acknowledge past mistakes, and demonstrate that you are working toward change.

I know, I may be overthinking this. However, there is a human touch to rebuilding credit.

Hi all,

Just sharing a recent experience.

I opened a BarclayCard Rewards MC (Average Credit) on May 17th, and my CL was $2000. My TU score was 657, that hase risen to 667 in a week. I have 25 INQ and 11 accounts in Collections (Medical).

I did a $300 BT from CareCredit, and paid $100 toward my bill.

I was looking for an IPad for my wife's birthday, and saw the 0% for 12 months offer on the Apple Store site. I apped for the card, and was declined. I called BarclayCard within a minute, and was approved for a Apple Visa with a TL of $3000.

The guy on the phone was cool, and even suggested I go to an Apple Store first to find better deals LOL.

My experience with Barclays so far is to act quick for a RECON, and dont wait for a letter.
