Hey all, new to the forum! Thought I would post and be active on my road to rebuilding a nice credit score.

Filed for chapter 7 in November 2013.

Discharged February 2014.

Approved for a Cap 1 Auto-Loan April 2014 for $26k.

Approved for Cap 1 Classic Platinum Unsecured card $300CL June 2014.

Approved for Cap 1 Quicksilver Rewards Cash Back card $300CL June 2014.

DENIED Barclays Apple Card June 2014.

After being denied by barclays, i stopped applying for cards. I was hesitant on even doing the Cap 1 cards, but i figured it was time to atleast make an attempt.

I would have loved the Barclays as well, wonder why i was denied after seeing some people get approved in the same score vecinity.

Any suggestions, advice, comments or anything at all would be appreciated. Thanks everyone.

My current score according to Cap 1 credit tracker: 586

Short term goal: 600

Long term goal: 700+

I am by no means an expert on this board but my suggestion work with the cards you currently have just make shure you make all payments on time and let your score grow, it takes patience in the game of credit but it pays off !

Capital One is a very good bank when it comes to re-building credit, Congrats on the approvals!

Barclays wants to see 6 months of use and payments on your other cards post BK discharge before they will give you a card. You could recon that, but that's probably what they'll tell you. Take me for example.... My bk was discharged in August 2013, applied for Barclays in November and was declined ( 3mo post bk), and reconned was denied and told to try back in 3 months. Applied in march (6 mon post bk and 6 months of history with another card), and got instant approval! )

hopefully i get a good gardening strategy in place, then i can apply for the barclay in august! (6mo post bk)
