Cabela's Club Visa

I actually don't remember applying for this, but I got a letter in the mail yesterday that said;

" Thank you for your recent application to the Cabela's Club Visa credit card program. It has been identified that you may have been unnecessarily declined because of a system issue on Cabelas.com. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

If you are still interested in applying for your own Cabela's Club Visa account you may do so online, by phone or in person at any US Cabela's retail location. We have requested the consumer reporting agency listed below to suppress the credit inquiry associated with the above referenced application. "

It goes on and lists Equifax as the consumer reporting agency.

I don't remember applying for this, but if I did it was this past summer, as that is when I got a Gander Mountain Card, and I know I like Cabela's store better.

I would love to have this card, but I would probably be denied right now because of inquiries and also becasue my score has dropped some becasue of new accounts......still 100% on-time payments and no derogatory items at all.

I was approved for 1500 just reciently with 15 INQ 634 EQ score.

I would probably ask if it could be coded as a SP if it was a mistake. That way if denied atleast it's a SP.

I just looked at CreditKarma, and it looks like I did apply for it, but I sure don't remember applying for that card. It is on my Equifax report......but I read iin the letter that it was supposed to be suppressed.

Yes they pull EQ. is your score up from then? Id call and get it surpressed or make sure they are in the process of getting it done. and apply since you like the store. I buy alot from there and dont live far from one myself to go browse. But id see if they can code as a SP. It seems from the letter you would have been approved. If that was approved back then, that HP would have been less of a ding also close to not counting at all. If they pulled another HP today then its a year for scoring and 2 years to fall off from today.

Actually NO, my score is lower now. If I knew I could get them to use the same pull that they already used, I would go for it. My Fico score when I check it at Walmart is 647. That is about 12 points lower then before.

I got the cabelas visa with a 627. 1500 SL. but like my other post visa NP, MC hates me LOL

You already wasted an inq so call them, I am sure they looked over your report so you are good. I was approved for this card yesterday and I have a bunch of inquiries in the last 2 months. Good luck!

OK, so I broke down and called them.....went through the application process and at the end the lady on the phone says, ok, I will get this over to the review team and they will go over your application to see what we can do. So I still don't know anything.....I hope I don't get another HP for this and if I do, I hope of them gets suppressed like they said.

OK, I just got a credit monitoring alert from CreditKarma that said there was new information added to my credit file......I go online and check and it is a inquiry from Cabela's. So now I have both pulls on my report....the letter they sent said one was going to be suppressed....should I call them again?

Good luck, and call. May have to reach credit reporting section. They may not know how to suppress.

BUT, if it was me, and I really wanted the card like you, if approved, I would be okay with the double pull. You are gardening, correct?

Still a good idea to try and get suppressed, but wait to see if approved.

OK, I am not sure if I was approved or not.

Today I received a letter saying Thank you for joining Cabela's CLUB Visa program. Soon you will be receiving your new card and welcome packet in the mail.

then on the back side it says my credit score with Equifax is 613 and says that the key factors that adversely affected my credit score was Length of time accounts have been established, proportion of balances to credit limits is too high on bank revolving or other revolving accouunts, too many inquiries last 12 months and lack of recent installment loan information.

If I am reading this right, I was approved....I guess I will find out in a week or two. Anyone have this card, and if so, how long did it take to receive the card. This is my first card that sent a letter saying approved, but then listing adverse factors. Usually I just get a card in the mail and no letters.

I am going to be gardening now for about 6 months, and most of my inquiries should drop off of my credit report by then.

If you received that letter you've been approved...received that same letter myself. My card arrived about 10 days after the letter.
