Hey all! If I apply for a new Amex will that be a hard or soft pull?..... I already have the ED which I had for 5 months now....

Not guaranteed, some have experienced soft pull for denial, hard pull for approval. Many have reported hard pull (means they are considering approval), but still denial.

When considering getting more credit, expect a hard pull, and be pleasantly surprised when it is soft pull for denial (got denial from cap one without HP).

The subject of whether if denied will be a hardpull or softpull is now an anecdote. It is a YMMV thing. So unless you can spare a hardpull, I'd say go for it.

Definitely YMMV. I have the Delta Gold AMEX, applied today for BCE, instant denial and a hard pull appeared on my report, though I've heard lots of others receiving only a soft pull for instant denials.
