That message will go away once you pay it and then you probably have to wait a little bit before they will consider let you back in. I've been waiting for 16+ years and they still won't let me back you. So my suggestion is that you start paying them back and then maybe they might let you back you.

Hahah I keep testing the waters with them for fun. I burnt them for 2k a while back and it already is off my report. I find it interesting that Cap1 took me to court for their $$$ which I paid via a pay off plan before court happened but Amex really just let it go. Would be nice to get a get out of jail free card with them for my one stupid mistake but I may suck it up and one day just pay them off.

Credit is a factor in everything these days.

My corporate card was definitely backed/guaranteed by the company. The company was extremely strict about it's usage; usage for personal charges was absolutely not tolerated, even if you immediately paid the bill. They even had a 'process' set up for if someone used their corporate card 'by accident' instead of their personal Amex account - the corporate card dept. could actually 'move' the charge from one card to another, but your boss's boss (at a minimum) had to get involved - needless to say, folks were very careful.

The corporate card never appeared on my personal credit, and if accounts payable was late paying the bill nothing 'bad' happened. The only thing close to "AA" was if you were 30 days past due you couldn't use the card for new charges, and after three billing cycles the balance was automatically charged to your organization and the card would be closed. More than once my boss was slow to voucher her charges and her card stopped working... she would simply get me or a co-worker use our card until her's was cleared up (technically against the 'rules' since she approved our vouchers, but as long as it wasn't abused this rule was rarely enforced).

At the time I had to do a good bit of traveling, and being literally right out of bankruptcy I didn't have the means to cover the charges myself, so the corporate card was genuinely necessary. If I were in that situation now (with my current cards), I would refuse a corporate card and simply use my own. As long as you kept good records it would be easier (for me it would, anyway) and it would allow you to earn rewards on the charges (my company prohibited all corporate cards from being in the MR program).

I could keep the charges seperate from the majority of my personal stuff and just keep the receipts and get my reimbursment from accounts payable direct deposited at the latest by the next pay check all while racking up points from hotels, to meals, to mileage. Look forward to using it.

I am in the same boat as you. Discharged/burned over $25K of Delta AMEX in Dec 2009. I applied for the Costco AMEX in 2014 and today, attempted the EveryDay AMEX and the same letter you displayed.

I think I have learned my lesson and will save my hard pulls for non-Amex cards in the future.

Sometimes you have to wait until it updates in their system though.
