Wells Fargo Prescreen

I logged into my Wells Fargo savings account just now and a pop up for card appeared. Unfortunately, its for a wells fargo secured visa

At least I know that wells fargo does prescreen your account and gives offers though, this was my intention on why I got the savings account there, to be on their radar lol. I am declining the secured card, as I don't need one of those. Just glad to see that they do send offers to your online acccount

Yea I'd never pay a AF on a secured card unless I was desperate. Beside I hate WF. their not easy to deal with.

I have been waiting for the prescreen pop ups too. Have had my mortgage with them for 3 years and still nothing. I wouldn't apply, but I would like to see them care.

Questionfor you about opeing the WF checking account. Do you know if they pulled chexsystems? Im considering opening one but hate to keep adding inqs ro CS.

WF Secured card is a waste of time if you want something that will unsecure. Otherwise, it's the same as any rebuilder card that you get for a short time and cancel before the first year.

They pull credit and chexsystems but it's not a hard pull, I don't think.

No preapproval for me, just the Cash back card popup when I log in. 5% gas grocery drugstore for 6 months. 0% APR 15 months then 17-26%.

The fine print says that a credit berau report will be obtained to open this card.

Seeing this made me think of my partners account and made him sign in and boom (offer for 0% for 18 months) then 17.24%.

WF graduates, just not as quickly as say BOA. WF reviews cards for graduaton twice a year.

I've seen a many people with secured cards for 2-3 years before they graduated. That is bananas to me.

I decided to take a peek to see if there was anything there for me... there was (!), but it wasn't too good...

(note also that my promo was only for 15 months)

It could be worse (26.24% is the highest they have), but with a 716 FICO I can do better elsewhere. That being said, they denied me for a card flat-out just a few years ago, so in a weird way this is satisfying... I guess? Of course, if I had an immediate need for a balance transfer the 0% promo could be helpful, but then the card would be permanently relegated to the SD, and as I've mentioned before, "I don't want no scrubs..."

I have my last 'baddie' aging off late this summer, so I will probably check back after that to see if the offer changes, if for no other reason than curiosity. Also, FWIW I use Wells as a 'secondary' checking account, so they only see a single $500 deposit each month (to avoid the monthly fee)... perhaps if I had significant deposits it would make a difference, but I doubt it.

It won't hurt to see... I once had a business checking account (it's now closed) and when I log in I still get all the offers for merchant processing as if I'm still a business customer.

I clicked the button on the left side of the screen (basically an ad) and it still gave me the pre-qual offer.
