FNBO NRA Visa - I did a stupid thing

I posted in another thread that I got a letter inviting me to apply for the NRA Visa. I have wanted this card for awhile. I tossed the application based on feedback I got here about it not being a pre-approval but really just an invite. Well, long story short I was cleaning my office and when I emptied the trash can I found the letter again. Yes, I app'd like an idiot. My FICO broke the 700 mark yesterday and I guess I felt bulletproof for awhile. Plus, I never get mailers. Ever. From anyone.

As you can imagine based on my scores/inq's in my signature I got the 10-14 response. I closed the window and proceeded to berate myself for apping. About 4 hours later I got an e-mail that my application is pending and it provided a link that I could click on to check status. I have never gotten anything like this so it immediately made me feel a little optimistic. What I need to know is that since I already took the hit should I try to recon this before they make their decision or wait for them to give me a definitive answer? Also, how far should I push if I do recon it?

They pulled Equifax which is my lowest score, atleast it was as of 2-22-16. I can't pull a update for 10 more days.

Not sure who told you it's not a true pre-approval

But as someone who did hours and hours and hours of research on them I can tell you they are 95% good pre-approvals

The problem with your app is you expected a instant decision ....90% of the time that won't happen as all apps are manually reviewed

I've only seen one case of a pre-approval being denied ....That person had done a spree before accepting the offer which means their credit profile had changed since FNBO did the SP which lead to the offer they extended to him

The offers are the only way in for some because if you live outside their footprint their very picky

Soooo

Here's what you can expect

They keep true bankers hours so no one is looking at your app ....Mon-Fri are work days

Expect an email some time tomorrow but no later than Tues.

SP CLI's every 3-4 months

BT or whatever checks monthly

Forgotten my APR but it's in the 12% range IIRC

My app spree was over a month ago and I just got their letter yesterday so I will be patient and wait and hope it doesn't hurt my chances. I am glad to hear they are so diligent. Thanks for the replies. I will post here the results rather than starting another thread in the approvals for the sake of cluttering the forums with similar threads.

Reason I ask is your profile may or may have not changed since they did the SP

The SP could have been 2 month's ago and a month later your name hit the mailing list

Not to discourage you but if you have access to your CR SP's I'd look for what date it occurred and it will give you a good idea where you stand

If the SP was after the spree (month ago) you're all good

Edit: Nevermind, I found them. Nothing on EXP, and EQF up till the day before my spree. Checking TU now.

I finally found them. They are on my actual CR from the big 3 as you stated. The last dated CR's I have are dated 4 days prior to my spree. None of those show any SP from FNBO. Unless they pulled it in the following 4-10 days (allowing time fro the HPs to hit my reports) then they probably already know about them. It is also worth noting that my scores were considerably lower priot ro my spree because my UTIL was 60% until I got my TCL increased.

Just wait it out.... you can see now how I feel on each of my apps (never any instant approvals for me) ...it is getting better and better with each card and my patience is improving slowly ... Good luck and in case it should not be an approval only then call to recon...no need to recon before a denial .. just hang in there!

You'll probably hear something today or tomorrow. When I applied for mine (via an email invite from ther NRA), it took I think four business days before I got an approval notice. My FICO 8's were in the 660's at the time.

As was mentioned earlier, I got an auto CLI from $1,000 to $1,400 four months later.

I was invited to RSVP before April 16th for their Amex without an annual fee. I HAVE WANTED IN WITH FNBO since FOREVER. It's there and I can't have it! A manual review? HA! I've spreed every few months since building in 2013. I've opened like 15-18 cards since July of last year up until now. My Huntington and Amex are just now reporting after 2 billing cycles.This is cruel, I tell ya!
