More than one Capital One???

I received a $1500 pre-approval from Capital One. I know that it is not an actual pre-approval and they will do a HP but I already have a Capital One Platinum ($300) and a Quicksilver ($500). What are the chances of actually getting approved on a 3rd Capital One account? Thanks in advance!

What card is it for? Remember you can only have two sub-prime cards with them. They will auto deny the application. You can have three prime cards.

It says Capital One Platinum. I did not know about the 2 subprime & the 3 prime. Thank you for that info. I am new to the forum. Although it's different than all the others I have received.

You can have 2 sub prime & 5 prime.
I know I have 2 sub & 4 prime !

I have never received a $1500 pre-approval. I can't help but wonder if this one would have been better than the original Platinum and the QS.

Not sure how the secured is counted. But I have a secured card and at one point had 2 subprime cards on top of that giving me 3 subprime cards.. So I think everyone is different. I have since upgraded to a QS card.

Just a side note... I have no knowledge of how many 'sub-prime' cards Capital One will permit, but there are folks over in the "Combination" mega-thread with definitely more than three 'Prime' Capital One cards, so that rule might be YMMV.

I learned a while back to never speak in absolutes on here... the only thing constant in the credit world is change.

I had the 2 sub-primes (Plat & QS1), and since I PC'd the Plat to a QS last month I have gotten 2 Pre-Approval letters for the Plat. And the same goes for my wife. It may have nothing to do with the PC but just a time element but I now have the Quicksilver Visa Rewards too and still get the Plat "Offer".

Not sure about the 2 sub prime cause I had a secured a platinum and quicksilver one at same time. The platinum did upgrade to a quicksilver after I got a CLI but I did have 3 sub prime card from them at once. Now I have 2 quicksilver a venture and quicksilver one

You can have up to 5 or maybe more in rare cases.

I have 5 total (3 Venture, 2 Quicksilver) as a data point. Have not try for a 6th but I do have 1 Spark Business also.

I have 5 PRIME & 1 SUB Prime. You can have I believe 7 total 5 Prime, 2 Sub
