You should try Capital One.

You'll most likely get the same denial with BoA that you got with Chase. They don't generally care if you have a checking account with them or not.

Hello! I applied in person for a Chase Freedom card and I just received a letter in the mail saying: "Not enough accounts opened long enough to establish a credit history". I do not have any credit cards, and therefore, any credit but I'm over the age of 21 and need to start building my credit ASAP!! I have checking accounts with both Bank of America and Chase (since 2011). Should I call the reconsideration line for Chase, apply for a BOA credit card, or consider opening a student card, possilby with Discover?? Any thoughts on what to do for people with no credit? Are my chances of being approved for a Chase Slate credit card higher or maybe hurt since I was denied for the Freedom card?

No, you just happen to tap into one of the lenders (Chase) who absolutely & positively REQUIRES at least (1) year (maybe less?) of history from another/other lender(s) first.

Been thru that before when i first started out too. Nothing personal on their part, just a business rule of theirs.

By the way.

Welcome to the forum

Your problem is w/o any credit not only do you have no credit but in all likelihood you have no scores unless you have student loans (do you)?

Student cards are always a good starting point as well as secured cards because they're more likely to give you credit based on being a student although a small starting limit

I would start with secured and in 6 months try unsecured cards

Discover likes thin files, and you may not even have to go the student card route with them. Have you tried Capital One's online pre-qualifier?
