Amex Charge Card count towards Chase 5/24 rule?

Does an Amex Charge card like the Premier Rewards Gold Card effect the 5/24 rule with Chase? ..... Friend Prequalified at Amex and he is waiting on next statement cut for Chase Sapphire ..... Advice for him?

If it reports on a CR it counts towards 5/24. Why not apply for CSP before applying for Amex that way there's no sweating the 5/24 rule.

Why would it not? It is an account whether it be a charge or credit.

I'm not familiar with how a charge card reports etc hence the question. Everything he read said "credit card accounts". He will have to wait for Chase Sapphire application then.

You can always gamble. New amex cards report slow.

I would think it counts as everyone else said. I just look at it as any card that reports, as Creditguy said. Just to be on the safe side.
