Denied Nordstrom (pending ID verification)?

Apped for Nordstrom online and told to call in. Called in and they "completed the application". They came back asking for my DL and a utility bill (surprisingly they pulled TU), but that my application was denied for too many inquiries. So should I send the stuff in? Is it denied and then it will be approved after verification? Anyone ever experience this?

I'm not sure. If it is denied already, I don't know what the point would be. I'd call to find out if an approval is still possible, pending your submission of the required documents. If not, I would not send them anything.

I just called and the rep said the app was "processing" and that I'd get a letter. Then I told her I spoke to someone and they said to send my docs in and she said I should if I want. I'm confused, so unless someone has experienced something similar, I may just say screw it.

I had the same situation. Sent in the requested documents and they sent me the card like a week later.

TD Bank is inquiry sensitive, so it might just be declined.

There are multiple stories on the forum of this exact scenario with Nordstrom. Many resulted in approvals after identity verification.

Thanks - I noticed that. The rep's language with the "denied as of right now" was squirrelly.

Yes, the Norstrom Credit cards are issued and managed by TD Bank. It just changed about a month ago. When I apped for, and was approved for this card, Nordstrom managed their own cards. About a month ago, I got a new card and a notice in the mail saying that their card portfolio was now being handled by TD Bank.

Nordstrom still handles the Nordstrom debit cards and their employee credit accounts.

I had like 20+ Inquries at the time and it was initially a denial then got mail for the requested documents. Sent them in figuring i might as well since i took the HP. Got surprised witht the card a little over a week later.

When I applied online the last time I got a sorry your application cant be processed. Please call this number before applying again.

So I called the number and the lady said that because I have a good standing Nordstrom Debit card, I need to go into the store and apply. The system kept rejecting my application because of the debit card. They never pulled my credit though for the 2 last apps I submitted.

Do you have a debti card with Nordstrom?

No I don't have the debit card.

I actually forgot all about this. When I get back to the office, I'll put my ID and utility bill in an envelope. We'll see what happens!

Glad I followed my gut and called back into customer service. The last rep was wrong. The app was denied :-(. Sending my info would have been an exercise in futility.

Nordstrom is definitely weird, I had a similar situation. Applied online got the message to call in, was told to send in verification information (copy of DL and utility bill), sent in the require documents, a couplde days later got a letter about not being able to process my application because they were not able to verify info, called in to let them know I had sent the required info and was told the app was denied d/t too many inquiries, so I wrote it off as a loss, then a couple weeks later got the card in the mail with a $1000 SL. I've had the debit card through Nordstrom's that I use quite a bit so not sure if that helped at all.

i had the same run around was told i was denied then told to send utility bill and id in then got the request in the mail before sending.

SL was $500 beats wasting ther HP
