PenFed Defender Visa Signature question

I applied membership on Penfed and open a checking and share account, Then I applied Visa Signature Defender card, I was approved instantly for 5k cl. I didnt see the fine print that you need to be in Military to apply for the card, My big concern is do you think they will cancel the card since I'm not a military member?

any suggestions?

and I also applied for regular rewards visa and it was automatically declined due to inquiries..

Well... the honest thing to do would be to contact Penfed and let them know that you did not read the fine print and are not a current member of the US armed forces. I am almost positive that they will cancel the card if they find out that you do not meet the requirements, and am a little bit surprised that proof of military affiliation was not required as part of the application for that card.

You can be active duty,retired,D.O.D BASICALLY any type of Government employee or be recommended by such.. hope this helps.. check full website

You do realize this question is about the Penfed Defender Visa Signature,, not just general membership, right?

The fine print on the bottom of the linked page states that the applicant must be either active in the military service, National Guard, or Reserves, or honorably discharged. Other methods of gaining membership to the CU(such as DOD/Gov't or recommendation) do not qualify the applicant for this card.

I called and talked to senior supervisor , she said they will product change my Visa Defender to Rewards Visa Signature, but I need to wait until i receive the actual card,

because it's already been processed.

Hmmm? While I have had the Promise for Nine Days now, The Defender is the only card I have been actually lusting after.

So here I sit with both of my DD214's already scanned in, ready to document service, and I might of wasted a couple of unnecessary keystrokes?

I could of been playing Solitaire instead.

Yeah, I also had mine scanned and ready to go. And my tax return, a utility bill, bank statements, and my driver's license. They didn't ask for anything.

Well, as of today, they asked for my date of Honorable Discharge;

which I know for a fact they have a Data Base connection link to

right there in the Approval Office now. That I can almost guarantee.
