Penfed Applications Check Sig for current position

Hello all! I just thought i would share another PenFed exerience. I started my credit about a year and a half ago. I just got denied from Nasa CU 2 days ago and decided to app penfed. I was approved with a 9000CL on the Penfed Promise, and approved with a 500CL on the other 4 cards I apped lol! Long story short i read here on the forums they do not punish for multiple apps and will use the same HP for 40 days or somthing like that. I am TJ This is my Story! =)

Question...
would it be worth it to recon on one of those cards for a higher CL? I won't accept the offers as 500CL does me no good.

Congrats on the promise, not sure if u would've apped for 5 cards all at once. They should call within a week for survey, if u filled it out and u can talk to them then I guess.

Well the reason i did is to find out what cards i qualified for. I only plan to pick 2. My ideal cards were the Promise, and Visa Signature (pending) for the 5x points on gas. Thank you for your input.

Wait so you apped for five cards in total with PenFed and were approved for all five? The Promise at 9k (congrats btw) and four others each with a 500 SL? If that's the case I'm pretty sure that means a total of five new accounts with PenFed and they were very quick to start reporting for me. Not sure you have the option of declining them short of actually cancelling them but they would still report.

Apparently these were all Soft Pulls!? It was very interesting. Once I apped to these cards it said congrats approved! "new interest rate / CL Accept or Decline. I declined the 500 approvals because a 500CL does not do me any good.

From other approvals I've seen, it seems the initial 9K on the one card was somewhat on the high side. This may be why the other offers were lower. I'm only guessing though.

RM21 thank you for the info. I was kind of assuming the same thing and after calling (on phone with them now) that is the case. What i did is took down the 9000CLIto 5000 (promise)and took the other 3 approvals and made a 6000 CL Platinum Visa Signature card. I was extremely shocked at the approval they gave me and how fun and friendly their customer services is. PenFed is great!

I thought 9K was on the lower end, but based on what you have said I am very thankful they approved me for such a high CL.

I just thought i would give an update. Apparently the gentleman i spoke with on the origional call had more powers than i thought. Instead of 6K signature card and 5k promise i was approved and cards have been sent with 6K signature Visa and 9K Promise. My largest approvals from 1 bank in my complete history. Penfed A++++
