Discover CLI request under review

So I requested a CLI (I do it every couple of days or so) from Discover. This time it says my request was under review and they would get back to me in 2 days.

Sadly, I called the lady on the phone and she told me it looks bad if you request a CLI so often and that I shouldn't. She couldn't see my request for a CLI.

I told her that I was planning for an upcoming trip... But unfortunately she said it wasn't a good idea, and told me to hold off on future CLI requests for at least 4-6 months.

My Discover CL is $1000, and it less than 1% of my income.

Does this mean my CLI will be denied?

The two day message is not an automatic denial. It's been about 50/50 for me. The 3-5 day message is the auto denial message.

Ha! 2500+ Myfico members would disagree with her. The 2 day message can be a good sign. Just check your online account over the next 2 days to see if you got the increase. Typically they are giving them every 90 days now. Some sooner,some longer.

2 day message has been pretty good to me in the past. Hope it works for you.

It's always a denial for me lol. I'm good with that as long as its not an HP

2 day message is definitely not auto denial. So many threads with approvals from this message, as mentioned.

Some of the larger CLIs I have seen had the 2 day message. I personally would wait 91 days between CLI requests.

The 2 day message was always good for me except the last few times which I got a denial in the mail.

My 30/31 day CLI attempt resulted in a 2 day message which got me $1500 CLI.

My 25/26 day CLI attempt resulted in a 2 day message but were denials.

Denial states not enough time with current Credit Limit.

2 day message for me ended up being a $1500 CLI.
This was 31 days after last CLI, but score had gone up quite a bit in that month. At least 30 points.
I had actually called them about a couple other things when Ingot the message and asked about the 2 day message. The CSR said that they have a rule of 90 days between CLI's.
I said 'but that really isnt set in stone is it?' She chuckled and said 'No'. She couldn't give me an update the status of my CLI request, but said the department that does it would let me know. A few hours later, there was the $1500 CLI on my available blance
