Amex ED email offer 15K points.. good or no?

Was out traveling for a few weeks and put some spend through my Amex Plat. Came home and found an email from Amex saying "Congratulations, You're Selected To Apply for An Exclusive Offer." It's the Amex ED card with 15K points after $1K spend in 3mos. At the bottom of the email is a RSVP code and a link.

1) Figure this is a solid approval unless anyone knows differently, yes?

2) Also, not sure if 15K points is a lot, seems a little low, but does anyone else know if that is a good deal?

Already have Amex Plat, PRG, Delta and BCE so figured I was at their max products anyway...TIA

Ah... it's not the highest. They keep sending me a mailer for 25k MR for 2k spend.

Would you really use that card? I think that is the bigger question.

I got the same offer. There has been posts on this forum and others that Amex is now allowing some to have 5 credit cards (charge cards not included in that). I applied (I alread have 4 Amex credit cards). I fifgured if I was denied it wouldn't be a HP. Well I got a HP and called and was told that I needed to go through verification process which I'll do Tuesday when they open. I have read that some have received similar offers and were denied (I'm not out of the woods yet until I get confirmation).

If I'm approved, I'm only expecting a CL of 1-2k at most.

Not sure how much I would use the card actually, so good question! If it was a little limit, I can tell you would not use at all. I was hopping to see if people were getting CL's of like $10K+ to see if it was worth it....

I think it depends on the profile. I tried to get cli's on my existing Amex cards and was a no go. Even my SPG approved in September 2015 with $1,000 was denied a cli to $3,000 so I'm very doubtful that if ED is approved it will be more than 1 or 2k.

About when did you all receive the email offer? I just had a CLI from $10K to $17K approved on my BCE (probably could have got more per my request but didn't feel like risking another denial)--but my EX score is only 680.

I got mine on June 30, 2016 via email. In may I received an invitation for the Platinum which I passed on due to fee. That was via US Mail.

I got approved for 2k which is what I was expecting

Darn, even hitting the $1k spend to get the 15K puts you at 50% utilization, of course can pay that off in a day. But that would limit my use of the card if my CL was that low. Still thinking of whether to roll the dice or not and try for it.

I did, but it told me needed to review info. then the next day got an email with a reference number saying it was received (below):

However when I check the URL for app status I got the following:

Then when I called the 18003140237 number and put the last 4 digist of my SS# in and my zip it tells me that "the system needed for this is not available online or for customer service and to call back later." Called yesterday and earlier this morning. About to call and get a live person to see what is going on.

Not sure what to make of it. I checked my accounts before I applied. And all in good standing with Amex and across the board. Fico scores on MyFico were good. And I saw a HP the next day on MyFico, CK and Total Credit Check from Amex. Not sure what to make of this.

That's the same message I got. If you got the HP, you should be good. Of you stay on the line, you can get a rep who them can connect you with the fraud dept, if that's the issue.
