Any Successful Costco Recons yet?

The letter finally came for my husband's Citi Costco denial - too many inquiries. Is a recon possible? If so, should I call the number on the letter for the Costco specific card or one of the EO numbers in the backdoor numbers thread?

EO would be person you would reach out to .. With regards to any successful recons I believe I heard of at least one where person had 5 inquiries with high 700 scores

My husband called the number on the letter, which was specifically for the Costco card. The rep was very kind and helpful and said she thinks he should call back in 1 month when several inquiries will be over 6 months old. She said they may be able to use the same app and hard pull and approve him then. So he will try again then and if it doesn't work contact the EO at that time. He does have a lot of inquiries, so this is no surprise.

Well at least he knows where he stands. The only thing to be aware of is that calling back after a month can likely cause another HP. Just something to consider.

I highly doubt they will use the same hard pull a month later.

The number on that letter is worthless, call 1-605-331-1698, its the executive team, they have way more pull as far as getting a second review on the application, the number you called in regards to the letter is about as effective as a Jeep on snow with no tread left on its tires! lol Best of luck!!

i tried to recon my costco visa denial and call the eo office and the lady said she would send my app to be manually reviewed but no luck with her. i thought the EO office had the power to overturn the decision but i guess they dont. Said i would hear from them no later than next thursday.

Thats odd? The person I spoke with was able to over turn the decision right away? Either way, I hope your review goes through quickly! Maybe they have limited authority when it comes to certain criteria?

Really? I dont think so, I have 10 within 2yrs and 1 in the last 12 months not sure how that wasn't one of the other reasons for denial. At least your recon was successful congrats.

Thanks for this number. I just tried calling it. The representitive was really nice and said she would put my initially declined app (too many inquiries) for manual review. She even gave me a time frame of when she thinks she would have a decision. This was the complete opposite from the rep I called (can't remember which number), which told me that apps declined for too many inquiries were not eligible for recon review.

Finally received my letter. Too many derogatory (in my case 2 - walmart and portfolio recovery 'buying' the walmart account). This was 2013. I guess it's not old enough yet. EX was 698 at the time of app.

Thanks for the number. He tried it last Thursday, and got a really nice guy who wanted to help, but somebody named Russel was not in. He promised to get back to us Friday but did not, so we called again today, got a different person who was not helpful at all and just repeated "too many inquiries". She was useless.

I just received word from my recon (initial decline due to too many inquiries), and the decision still stands. I had 9 inquiries at the time of app.

Did you get a call back or how were you notified? I called the EO number last thursday and got a really nice lady who said she would send my app to be manually reviewed and i should receive a call by today but nothing so far. Were all your inquiries recent?
