NFCU - Nail biting in progress

Hey FICO Family

So I decided that perhaps it was time to try and join the ranks of Shiny Happy NFCU people (yes, I am dating myself here with the REM throwback).

I have been working my bu@# off to rebuild after a Ch 7 disch in 9/2015- So after almost a year of re-establishing with Cap1, Wells Fargo and Barclays to drag my scores back to a little less embarrassing level.(640/633/658 and sub 20% Util) I pulled the trigger and joined NFCU today. Super happy about that...a little less so that I received the dreaded "Application is under review" after applying for the GoRewards card. . LOL.

My end goal is to build some history with them so once I age the BK I can use them for a home purchase.

So I am turning to you all for moral support while I wait (Why does that seem like the longest 24 hours in history.).

Do you all think I was too soon to app? Thoughts... Ideas ....

The 24 hour review message is quite common. And with your scores, I would definitely bet on an approval. I got my first card with them in the 590's. Navy Fed is phenomenal!!😆

When you joined today was that instant or you had to wait for approval. Still got no approval email after a week.

I went into the local branch so the account opening was instant but the credit card approval was a "hurry up and wait" thing.

this will be an Iffy for me . i feel you might not get the card and might have to recon just to receive a low limit.

my mom joined last week through me. Her score they pulled was 701. i think they use fico 4 from what they sent in the mail from transunion. her fico 8 scores are 720+ and she appled for the cash rewards and only got 1800. lowest card she has by a long shot. they said they want to see how well she pays to give increase. her AAofA is 6 years, no baddies whatsoever. i feel like it has somethign to do with navy league .

I beg to differ. I joined 2 weeks ago via Navy League. I got an instant approval for the cash rewards 15.1K and instant approval CLOC for 15K.

Still confused why they only gave me 2.5k on the CLOC... seems like 90% of everyone and their dog gets the full 15k on it.

Many who have joined via Navy League have been instantly approved for $20k+ cards and $15k CLOC.

I completely disagree. I joined thru Navy League. Within 45 days I got:

Denied for a CashRewards Visa (then got a preapproval mailer a few days later..)APPROVED $5K SL

CLOC $15K

Refinanced my car, saved me ELEVEN PERCENT on my loan!!!

wha..wha...what ? I got my response back from NFCU today and they APPROVED me... SL of 1,900.00 > >>couldn't slap this grin off my face right now....
