I recently requested a CLI from Cabella's (8.15.16) from current $10k to $15k, they pulled Equifax which is currently at 767. The request was granted within 2 days and with no comments of than a letter of congrats. Presently I don't use the card much, but they are building a new store close to me scheduled to open in mid-2017, which will probably get me in a bunch of trouble (at least with the wife).

By December, my credit rebuild will be coming down the home stretch. I will start closing most of my Synch store cards and replacing them with a few bankcards. Cabelas is on my wish list.

Cabela's seems universally to require a HP for CLI's at any point, regardless of credit score. This did not used to be the case several years ago, but within the last year, they almost exclusively seem to require HP to advance at all with the card limit. Many of us with FICO's in the 730-740 range (myself included) have closed our Cabela's cards because the limit was just stuck. It's not a card that I am willing to take a HP on - I will save those for other cards, if needed.

Thanks for info. I'll add that they will only review for a cli once every 3 months so if you're denied, you'll have to wait 3 months. Learned that the hard way. Also, I was denied simply because my credit score wasn't high enough.

They will do auto luv at 6 month intervals........occasionally it does get a bit chilly in heck also...

One thing to note is that no one on the board has seen any auto luv nor reported any auto luv on this card on this card in over a year.

The reports here of any auto luv are old, so it seems they have changed something in their model where you will need HP for CLI.

Fwiw. I had the card about a year. Originally approved for $7k, no auto luv. I rarely used the card always PIf when I did. My scores over that time period were in the 710-740 range due to a bunch of BT balances. I asked for a cli, got a HP and got the $15k I asked for. I had about $70k in balances reporting at the time and 31% utilized total across file. I noticed a lot of creditors got stingy once I had balances reporting so I am in the process of knocking out all of the promo balances now.

@ tussking.Not true about having 700 and above to request CLI.I was under 700 and also don't have to wait 3 or 6 monts to get one, i got one every 30 days from 4k to 20k in 8 monts. last 3 i got them every 30 days.Hard pull.

Maybe it depends on the customer then. I called Cabela's two times and was told that I would have to wait until October 6th to request another CLI. This would be 3 months from my last one. They wouldn't even budge on that

years ago u needed at least 680 to get approved, now you have a 650 or so youll get in with theam for about 2k.Also back in the day if your fico dropped under 680 they close your account. dont know how they are now about that.
