If denied can try the backdoor recon # posted on this forum to the credit analyst.. Link above should stated whether declined or not.

Your scores are good enough typically for the rewards card, if denied call the backdoor analyst #, not the normal CSR and RECON! Best of luck! Also the sooner the better if you gotta recon

I called the RECON number and spoke with a Credit Analyst. I was told that I would be denied due to "no revolving credit history" showing on my report and too many recent accounts opened.

It'll be tough to Recon that reasoning.. however, i still say you always recon at least 3 times!

That will be a tough recon, especially on other revolving accounts.. They like to see typically I believe one major CC for 6 month or is it a year before they will typically extend credit to someone and that really isn't flexible for what I have read on the forum.. I could be wrong, but I have a pretty good memory if I haven't had anything to drink.

The only other major credit card I have is an unsecured card with my bank (credit union) and for some reason it doesn't show on my credit report.

Recently, I was approved for a Capital One credit card.....meaning in the past 7-10 days approved and card was received in the mail 2 days ago. I haven't even swiped that yet.

I originally got denied for barclay rewards in 2012 and also had just gotten cap one. i added target and had them both for 2 years and i was just recently approved for barclays last month so defenitely garden what you have and reapply in about a year.

Call and ask your CU to see if they report to 1 or all 3 CB and if they don't report at all ask them to I'm sure they should be able to do that.

I have asked my Credit Union about that and was told they do not report to any of the credit bureaus.

I ran into a similar issue with another creditor. I asked them to report to the credit bureaus and was told they only report when accounts are past due, in collection, etc.

I tried the number again but was told (automated service) the office was closed. Is there another number? Or should I just wait and call again tomorrow during normal office hours?

Really? I know cell phones, util bills, etc don't report... Revolving credit should though especially credit cards even if through a credit union! I know there are such things as hidden trade lines which can be good such as pay pal bill me later, but this isn't the case with this and could help you out.. Weird they aren't reporting

1-866-408-4064... Backdoor Number to a Credit Analyst.... When I was denied online received the denial letter 5 days later called to recon...(I remember that I was in the same situation your in now).... I talked to a nice lady.. She asked me a few questions...approved for $500.... IMHO the some of the female analyst are more understanding than the guys!

I'm wrong on the hours I gave you.... Try again in the morning .. I know a fellow member by the name of Nixon had several recon's .. Eventually approved for his Barclays Sallie Mae! So try again in the morning... Persistence usually wins!
