Discover Secured Graduation Question

So I got the Discover secured card back in August with a $400 deposit/CL I'm wondering once it graduates/unsecures does that also possibly come with a CLI at the same time because my CL is pretty low.

YMMV. Some people have reported a CLI but that's not universal. You got a long time to go, I'd focus on building your profile in the meantime to raise your odds of a CLI.

I probably would've qualified for their student card rather than secured but didn't want to waste a HP. At the time scores were about 630.

By next August I'm hope to be at 700 with TU and EQ and about 675-680 with EX.

Let me ask this:

Do you think it's harder to graduate for someone who put in a $3,000 deposit vs. someone who put in a $500 deposit if they have the exact same CR and scores about 650.

I doubt the deposit has a thing to do with graduation, scores, profiles and card usage will dictate the final outcome.

I agree with this. Deposit does not mean anything when it comes to graduation. Your profile and the derivative score is what really matters. Usage will only make Discover extra interested sometimes but mostly it does not matter since they make the swipe fees. I have a feeling that by the time you are ready to graduate you will be entering the 700's and that will usually call for a CLI at the same time.
