Applied for the platinum and got the 7-10 review. I burned them through my BK7 and everytime I would try to apply, they never pull credit and instant denial... tonight, they pulled my reports but gave me the 7-10 day message. 10 months post discharge.. anyone else gotten this msg and got approved?? Been waiting to get back in with them.. scores in my sig

Cap1 most likely won't approve you until 1 year out of bk.

Capital One is weird these days. I have seen some on the boards get approved the day after discharge, while others have to wait 6 months to a year to get back in. It just all depends on what mood Capital One is in on that particular day. It took me about six months after discharge to get back in with them. Remember, YMMV.

Yea they are very weird. I have tried every month for their card since discharge and they always auto deny due to past credit obligations with no credit pull... this was the first time they finally pulled my reports and asked me to wait 7-10 days. I called this morning and they transferred me to fraud dept and they said they want to make sure it was me who applied and I should hear back from them within 2-3 days by email.

I have seen quite a number of folks get the 7-10 day message, and get approved

Both my wife and I applied separately for Venture1 cards - got 7-10 day message in both cases.

Both of us got calls to verify idenitty - a few days later we were approved

Others on this forum have had similar experience

I too burned Cap 1 in bankruptcy. I applied for the Cap 1 QS1 almost two years post bankruptcy and received the 7-10 message. I received a call from the fraud dept that night. Then I called back to check on the status of my application about two days later and was approved. So, it is possible to be approved with the 7-10 message.

CapOne can be strange. Believe it or not, I was actually approved for 2 cards with them (a month part from each other) while I was 3 years into a 5 year CH 13. And what makes it even more interesting is that I had burned them in my BK13. Trust me, I was shocked. Now, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone else as you're not suppose to obtain additional credit during a BK13 but I did, the time has passed, BK has since been discharged, and lucky for me the trustee never got wind of it. Today I have just two CapOne cards, one with a $44,500 limit (that's after rolling the 2 QS1's together that I picked up during my BK and a hefty Venture that I obtained post discharge) and a PlayStation Visa that I've had for a few years that is close but still hasn't broken the $5k yet. As of now they keep offering me $200 increase on PlayStation when I hit the button regardless of spend. I'm starting to think the $44,500 limit that I have is hindering the CLI on my PlaySation as I may have hit a ceiling with them...who knows.

I was approved!!!! I guess 7-10 days with capital one is most likely an approval... 10 months post bankruptcy ... I got the platinum and I also wanted to get the quicksilver.. does anyone know when I can apply for another cap one??

The practice now with Capital One is six month from your last approval.

I burned them with 2 cards in 2012...both unpaid (no bankruptcy) and they let me back in for another personal card, a business card and I'm also pre-approved for an auto loan. Both times that I applied for their credit card I received this message. The first time they stated that I had to remove the fraud alert from my credit report to be considered for a card and the second time it was for verification.
