Discover cards

Discover has always denied me when I tried to app. Guess the saying of what can't have we want the most is true in this case. My credit profile has gotten significantly better in one year. Fico scores have all gotten to the above 665 on eq, 696 on tu, and 688 on ex since then. My cards have all grown with auto luv, and some cards have hit 1 year or more. Currently still have two charge offs and one 90 day late reporting until 2019.

For those of you who haven't had a BK or thin file when did discover let you in? Currently have been in the garden for 6 months.

Discover is such a weird beast. I had horrible credit when I got my card (and it wasn't secured), like scores in the low low 600's. I would say it doesn't hurt to app and maybe try to recon a denial, but I am also not a Discover pro. Your scores aren't horrible, what's your utilization like?

I tried for Disco I think in late 2014 and again in 2015...no dice.

My scores in 2014 were probably mid 500s to low 600s...with a list of baddies a mile long...

2015 I was in the mid 600s with only a few baddies...Disco still slapped me down

They just now let me in with EQ and EX scores in the 690-700 range...each report had singular separate satisfied baddies listed.

Well, my baddies all taken care of and currently hold freedom, bce, CSP, Barclay rewards, BBR, qs. All of my credit lines are above 5500 for the exception of BBR which is 1500 and my newiest account. My utilization is at 13 percent. Don't want to waste another pull for no reason...

You never know with Discover they can go either way.. Obviously with higher and higher scores your likelyhood of approval inceases, but with credit nothing is guranteed, especially with Discover

I just periodically tried Disco's prequal...until I eventually received one of the "safer bet" mailers (fancy envelope and small APR range w/invitation code).

Their prequals can be dodgy at first glance...but I think it triggers their system to start monitoring you a bit and sending out adverts.

I gave up on throwing HPs at the cause...

Discover is my white whale and they always deny me. From what I've gathered and reading the forum they are not baddie friendly. I currently have three baddies left from 2013 and every time it's a no go. I was tempted again to try and app and started a post about baddies and discover and then I saw your post. Guess it's going to yet another hard pass for me.

Have you tried their prequalify.... Not for the prequalify per se.. but to get their attention (Garagebandkid's suggestion)

Also you could apply for a free monthly FICO score through credit scorecard also to get on their radar....

Then wait a few months....

Id fill out their prequal at least once a month as well as sign up for credit scorecard....

And wait for some mail offers... then in a few months eat the HP =)

I actually filled out a prequalify online every month since my first denial with them... and then the offers slowly got better and better..

I waited for my score to be in the 740s though before i bit.... it was 749 if i recall... (but you dont need it that high,I just was lacking AAoA at the time)

Well I had zero offers on the pre qual, again. But rolled the dice and approved!

Awesome on your "roll of the dice". As you may be aware ... credit is like pinball and you never know.
