chase freedom application question

I applied for the chase freedom online a few minutes ago. I got a message that said they need additional time to review my application. They will send me a decision as soon as possible by mail and if approved I'd receive my card within 7-10 days.... my question is has anyone else got the same message and what was your outcome? ? I'm guessing it's not an immediate outright denial?

Just received this email from chase.com :

Thank you for submitting a credit card application to Chase.

Here's what you can expect next:We'll let you know of our decision through U.S. mail within the next 30 days. Please don't resubmit this application while waiting for our decision.

If we approve your application, we'll send your card and other important information to you by U.S

mail. Once you receive your card, call the number on the sticker right away so you can take advantage of everything your card has to offer.

If we don't approve your application, we'll send you a letter explaining why.

Thank you for applying for a Chase credit card

This is pretty normal these days. It is mostly verification issue. I suggest call them.

Call the recon number. Look in the sticky thread up top under "Helpful Threads" and then "Backdoor Numbers"

i got that message for the Chase Amazon, Freedom and AARP and i was approved for all 3, so you might be approved too

Called spoke with a kinda snooty credit analyst. Said application denied because of too many newer accounts

Don't give up. Call them again tomorrow ... Some those analysts have miserable lives and are just mean.

I've actually opened up 4 in the past 3 months.. should I try the same number again or email the eo? ? This was going to be my last app until this time next year.

EO will stick by there underwitters/analysts. Call again tomorrrow and maybe try to talk to someone else and try another recon. Your scores are on the low side, so it might be a tough sell if those are current in your signature, but anything is possible! Best of luck... You took the HP's no sense on wasting it or them. reconing to many new accounts is easier then derogs etc.. Best of luck tomorrow with a different analyst. Make sure they have had there coffee first though!

i have opened 12 credit card accounts in the last 3 months including chase amazon, freedom and AARP, call again, don't give up and when you get the $200 bonus, well, i'm here

If you feel that your profile warrants reconsideration, then give it a try. But, keep in mind, if the answer remains "no" after several tries, then decide if it's all worth it in the end or consider applying in the furture where things look more favorable with your profile. Not every reconsideration is successful.
