Just did the chat with Gap and Walmart, and they referred me to the credit solutions department.

What are people saying about the outcome for making the call to each of these different "solutions"?

Usually the outcome for CLI is very good with credit solutions but then it all depends on your profile and scores too .

Many people have had very positive outcomes with Credit Solutions. FWIW, even if you were given different numbers either number should work for both cards... one number goes to an overseas call center and one is US-based (there might be more than two numbers, but as far as I know people have only spoken of two call centers).

I heard really good things about the overseas number, and I opted to go that route with my own accounts and was successful both times; many others on here have reported the same (some believe them to be more generous than the USA number, but that's anecdotal).

They will put you on hold to do a SP on your TU, so the stronger it is the better your results will be. It's said they generally start becoming generous around 660-675, with folks around 700 reporting really nice results, and those around 730+ getting basically whatever they want. This is just a guide; folks have reported getting a CLI with sub-660 but below that it's YMMV.

Good luck... the call only takes a few minutes (they aren't big on small-talk) and be sure to let us know how it goes!
