Comenity and Overstock...

Called Comenity Recon this morning and kept getting Voicemail after holding a bit.

Called Overstock Credit Customer Service and asked for Account Protection.

She wanted to know why I would go there if I did not have an account.

I said because I applied for another Comenity Card BEFORE the overstock card and already received denial letter so I assume my Overstock application is pending Account Protection Verification.

She gave me 866-496-9774 New Accounts to call about it.

Quick conversation with that lady and she said she would get me to Fraud Department

I held and held and held and after 36 Minutes Account Protection picked up!!!!

At first she didn't understand why I came to her if I didn't get a letter but when I told her I probably didn't get the usual introduction from the new accounts lady that just transferred me because of how busy you are as I have been on hold for 36 minutes to get to you.

She was like, OH MY, I'm sorry, I did find your application... can I verify some things.

Placed on hold again...

PENDING

I was like WHAT?!

she was like I took care of everything on my end and now it's been sent BACK to the bank to finish processing!

I was like to process or it's denied and you can't tell me that!

she said oh no, it's not denied, but it needs prcoessing now.

HMMM, I don't know that I believe that... I always get instant decision after verification in Account Protection.

SIGH!

I guess every lender is different! May be they work department wise and each department will do only what they are supposed to do

I've talked to Commenity's "account protection" team before too.

It also happened to be related to my Overstock card but it happened when I tried to place an Overstock order. In the end, everything worked out fine.

I am guessing Overstock has more security measures in place than the other Commenity cards.

I think Overstocks application has a bug. When I click on the link to apply for the card the page immediately goes to 10 day message everytime. It doesn't matter that browser I use or computer. The only way I can actually fill out and submit the application is to create an new account with unique email address. I get denied everytime I do, but there's definetly something not right with their app.

Comenity Acct Protection team is lile a group of 5 year olds playing with Matchbox cards. I just spent 30 minutes on the phone with them and every time i asked for escalation, i believe they passed the phone around the cubicles. The EO was just as unhelpful.

At least yours is pending. These idiots cant even figure out the purpose of a security freeze. I should probably step away from the computer i am so annoyed by the incompetence of that outfit. Good luck i hope it works out in your favor.

Ridiculous! Anybody who can keep 65 credit cards in good standing should be able to get any card he wants!

Called back just now to new accounts who couldn't find an account or application (she sounded overseas and kept repeating herself asking if I received a letter from them?)

As I stated the first 3 times you asked me that I have not received a letter.

Then after she couldn't find anything and I stated that I talked to Account Protection previously about the application and they had it but then told me it was still processing she decided she would transfer me to them again since she knew nothing else...

They clearly need to hire more poeple to handle all the cards they offer now... waited 15 minutes.

Once again it's like pulling teeth without a letter "I can try to locate if you have an application with us"

Umm, I assure you I have an application with you all!

he finally agreed to take my social to even look!

AND THEN HUNG UP ON ME when he coudln't find anything and didn't know what to do!!

What is it with these people and the stupid letter. CA I was so mad I filed a CFPB complaint because I really don't believe a word they tell me any more. You'd have better luck arguing with a brick wall. Goodluck.

Maybe I'm one of the few that never had any issues with them through those same channels? And, I've dealt with them twice. I'm stumped.

Called back through new accounts again... this guy found the app in the 2nd system he looked in and said that it finished processing and a letter was sent out yesterday and I should receive it in 7-10 days.

I just about lost it with Comenity and the stupid "letters"

I eventually took a supervisor who was about as helpful as a door and said it's security for mail to be sent.

I'm like how about you use the 10 existing accounts I have to verify it's me applying

or how about the public records you use once i get the letter to verify.

"He said you may know all the answers to the public records questions that's why we sent the letters to you directly"

ARE YOU KIDDING ME... I was like your bank is not even frustrating, it has so many different answers and different computer systems to accomplish the same thing if it wasn't for the existing extensive relationship I had with it I wouldn't do business with it and I'm surprised your in business based on complaints I read about the company over these very issues!!

I said 3 calls with new accounts, 2 calls with acocunt protection and 1 rep that hung up on me and 2 other reps that couldn't even find an application but the answer is the letter that comes via USPS a very reliable entity in itself in 2014, sure send me back to another person that probably can't even find the application again!

how can a company have E-statements but employees can't even click on PDF files in the system of letters sent to clients!

and why do they have more than 1 system to handle applications that some reps don't even know how to search?

I'm ready to explode!

I'm at 34 minutes right now and still on hold for account protection.

You can't make this stuff up... If I wasn't in a no-record state I would be posting this stuff ALL THE TIME!

Account Protection comes on and of course she wants the reference number off letter.

she finally says "She can check status" but not process without a letter

she argues with me for a while about a letter sent out on the 6th

I'm loosing it since clearly that's past the 7-10 days and a different story from all other reps

then all of a sudden she slips and says it's declined

then we get in a fight about all the reps that lied and the wasted time and blah blah

and then she says well this BJ's blah blah

WHAT? are you kidding me... im not calling about BJ's

so then we fight about how she isn't a mind reader.

and I'm yelling you were verifying me, i never was asked what card i was calling in about you just piped right into waiting for this letter as you reps ALWAYS DO

she puts me on hold for a while and comes back with overstock.com and that was just decisioned yesterday and to wait for letter.

I ranted about the stupid process and the 56 minutes I was at to that point with her for getting zero information from reps and these letters that never come.

When she says "Well I can give you the direct number to account protection and if letters don't come in 7-10 days you can call us"!

I could have kissed her through the phone!!

I told her she made my day with that and solved more issues in 5 seconds than my previous 15 phone calls did!

Who wants it!?

Yeah I got Acct Protection number as well. Be prepared to wait on hold with that annoying music on non stop repeat for 35 more minutes. Only to be told wait for the letter. I escalated three times with that department and got nowhere.
