A Quest for a Dscover it Credit Limit Increase

Just figured id give sn update on my trials and tribulations with Discover on hitting the luv button

Dec 9th 2016- 61 days no go, no letter

Jan 8th 2017 - 90 days no go, 3-5 days receive a letter

Jan 9th 2017- 91 days, no go, 3-5 days receive a letter

So far, looks like i dont fit the profile needed but will try again in 30 days.

Same here AveJC, have hit the button weekly since passing 90 days/3rd statement mark - always receive the 3-5 day letter.

What does your credit profile/scores look like? What was your SL with Discover? I assume you've read through Austinguy's Discover data points thread already. I'm curious what others have experienced with a profile similar to what yours is.

AJC, I was hoping I'd find this post on the Approval page (I didn't want to look anywhere else), and dang it, here you are. All is okay - give it another 31 days, and hit that button again.

Waiting for your bk to drop off your reports was a biggie (I was so excited for you as it was getting closer and closer). But, getting your first increase with Discover has trumped even that. An increase, with them, will absolutely confirm that the old "oops" from long ago will not damage all the beautiful work you have done rebuilding your credit these last 10 years.

Sorry to hear... Discover is just a weird lender as we all know.. Try it after 95 days.. One time I had to wait for 95 days for a CLI.. Usually 90 or 91 for me for the short time I have had them, but worth a try. Discover is by far still my lowest lender. I can only assume they figure I have so many other cards/high limits that I have no need for them or big limts with them when I still put a decent amount of spend on them at least for the amazon cats last two quarters.

I've had my Discover card for a little shy of 3 months. Noticed an auto increase of $1.2k this morning. Was pleasantly surprised...thought since they gave me an auto incresae that I would try the button as well...no go. I'll see what the letter says when it arrives...

Yes unfortunately AverageJoeCredit the A typical profile isn't there. I'm in the same boat opened my card with them in April 2016 was given a borderline approval with higher Apr option $1,6000 SL. Got a unexpected auto increase within 53 days of having the card and thought to myself I'm going to be on a roll with them. But didn't happen only recieved a $500 increases since then. You will see from many other threads if you research it members with higher scores being approved for at least $6,000 then your in with Discover for those huge further CLI's. If I would have know what I knew no I would have never appied with them with sub 600 scores at that time. Oh well live and learn.

I've put about $800 bucks through the car card in the short time that I've had it. Have only used it for category spend. Don't know what triggered the increase but I'll take it. It'll get daily swipes for the next 3 months as my local gas station goes everything as fuel and I'm still in the double cash back period meaning everything will be 10%. I plan to clean up until I hit the limit and then I'll switch to another card. Hoping that they'll give me an increase after my 3rd statement but I'll wait to see what the letter says and proceed from there.

Hi Brutal, sl is $2500, Fico8 at approval 695 TU, hit 702 by December, chargeoff popped up in Dec dropped score to 630. Overall uti 6% , 18 reporting positive accounts plus 1 personal loan ,over all accounts , probably have spent just over the sl in 1st 3 months , current balance at 0, $86 pending charges. I think my Ex is 707, no sign of chargeoff as of last week, Eq, no idea as is frozen.

Until you get that new charge off taken care of, I doubt you will see much increase
