Chase Application Status?

I applied for the Chase Freedom Unlimited on 1/4 and I got the 7-10 days message. They haven't given me a HP yet so I was wondering if there is any change my application got denied? Or should I try to call the reconsideration line tomorrow in order to get an answer?

I received the 7-10 message as well and everytime I called the automated phone line I was told it was still under review. I called in once to speak tp a person and he told me it was still under review. FInally on Thursday I received the denial letter.

Yeah I have experienced the same. I think they just pretend it is "still under review" any time you call prior to receiving the denial letter, even if they can actually see that it has already been denied.

Everyone gets a 7-10 day message *online* if not instantly approved. This can be for many reasons and means nothing.

A 7-10 day message on the *auto status line* usually means denial. Technically it means a letter was generated.

If it's "2 weeks" or "30 days" on the auto status line, it's usually an approval.

Update: They wanted me to confirm my application, requested documents, and told me that they will let me know in a few days.

Sounds to me like you're on your way to getting approved.....its a security thing, making sure no one else is applying in your name...

Maybe, but I kind of messed up by applying for the Freedom last night. I got approved, and now I'm not sure if they will give me the FU.

Just stockpile the UR's until you are able to get the FU, and eventually a CSP or CSR to transfer them to and get the multiplier for travel (and the corresponding bonus).

jmarte...I applied for two cards at the same time...FAIRMONT AMD IHG....They approved both...had to call Recon...I have the Freedom card too, I have 13 new accounts opened in less than 2 yrs too...5/24 rule isnt affecting me and Chase

Congrats! I don't believe that the Fairmont and IHG are under the 5/24 rule though, perhaps someone can confirm?

I applied for the Chase Freedom yesterday and got the same notice. Called the application status number and it said it was "under review." Hoping for good news, but it doesn't look promising. I was minding my own business in the garden when a CC offer I got in the mail gave me an itchy trigger finger yesterday. Hope the new inquiries weren't for nothing, but I'm headed back to the garden now.

I applied for both the Freedom and the Freedom Unlimited. Both with a $700 starting limit. Got the freedom a week ago, and the FU is now on its way! They just wanted me to prove my identity and address.
